Materials Data on Sr(Cd2Pt)2 by Materials Project

Sr(PtCd2)2 crystallizes in the tetragonal P4_2/mnm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sr is bonded to six equivalent Pt atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing SrPt6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 41°. There are two shorter (3.34 Å) and four longer (3.45 Å) Sr–Pt bond lengths. Pt is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Sr and six equivalent Cd atoms. There are two shorter (2.81 Å) and four longer (2.82 Å) Pt–Cd bond lengths. Cd is bonded in a distorted trigonal non-coplanar geometry to three equivalent Pt atoms.

Materials Data on Sr2CdPt2 by Materials Project

Sr2Pt2Cd crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sr is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Pt and four equivalent Cd atoms. There are two shorter (3.23 Å) and four longer (3.25 Å) Sr–Pt bond lengths. There are two shorter (3.52 Å) and two longer (3.61 Å) Sr–Cd bond lengths. Pt is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Sr, one Pt, and two equivalent Cd atoms. The Pt–Pt bond length is 2.72 Å. Both Pt–Cd bond lengths are 2.82 Å. Cd is bonded to eight equivalent Sr and four equivalent Pt atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and face-sharing CdSr8Pt4 cuboctahedra.
