Materials Data on CaB2(H2O3)2 by Materials Project

CaB2(H2O3)2 crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/c space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ca2+ is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight O2- atoms. There are a spread of Ca–O bond distances ranging from 2.37–2.85 Å. B3+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form corner-sharing BO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of B–O bond distances ranging from 1.46–1.52 Å. There are two inequivalent H1+ sites. In the first H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O2- atom. The H–O bond length is 0.99 Å. In the second H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O2- atom. The H–O bond length is 0.98 Å. There are three inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted water-like geometry to one Ca2+, one B3+, and one H1+ atom. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Ca2+, one B3+, and one H1+ atom. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted trigonal planar geometry to one Ca2+ and two equivalent B3+ atoms.

Materials Data on CaB2 by Materials Project

CaB2 is hexagonal omega structure structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ca is bonded to twelve equivalent B atoms to form a mixture of edge and face-sharing CaB12 cuboctahedra. All Ca–B bond lengths are 2.76 Å. B is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Ca and three equivalent B atoms. All B–B bond lengths are 1.86 Å.

Materials Data on CaB2(HO)8 by Materials Project

Ca(B(OH)4)2 crystallizes in the triclinic P-1 space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of one Ca(B(OH)4)2 sheet oriented in the (0, 1, 1) direction. Ca2+ is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to one H1+ and eight O2- atoms. The Ca–H bond length is 2.61 Å. There are a spread of Ca–O bond distances ranging from 2.39–2.70 Å. There are two inequivalent B3+ sites. In the first B3+ site, B3+ is bonded in a tetrahedral geometry to four O2- atoms. There are a spread of B–O bond distances ranging from 1.48–1.51 Å. In the second B3+ site, B3+ is bonded in a tetrahedral geometry to four O2- atoms. There are a spread of B–O bond distances ranging from 1.47–1.52 Å. There are eight inequivalent H1+ sites. In the first H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O2- atom. The H–O bond length is 1.00 Å. In the second H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O2- atom. The H–O bond length is 0.99 Å. In the third H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O2- atom. The H–O bond length is 0.98 Å. In the fourth H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O2- atom. The H–O bond length is 1.00 Å. In the fifth H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O2- atom. The H–O bond length is 0.99 Å. In the sixth H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O2- atom. The H–O bond length is 0.99 Å.
