Ca2Al4Si8O33 crystallizes in the triclinic P1 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Ca sites. In the first Ca site, Ca is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to seven O atoms. There are a spread of Ca–O bond distances ranging from 2.29–2.89 Å. In the second Ca site, Ca is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six O atoms. There are a spread of Ca–O bond distances ranging from 2.30–2.88 Å. There are four inequivalent Al sites. In the first Al site, Al is bonded to four O atoms to form AlO4 tetrahedra that share corners with four SiO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Al–O bond distances ranging from 1.73–1.81 Å. In the second Al site, Al is bonded to four O atoms to form AlO4 tetrahedra that share corners with four SiO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Al–O bond distances ranging from 1.73–1.81 Å. In the third Al site, Al is bonded to four O atoms to form AlO4 tetrahedra that share corners with four SiO4 tetrahedra. There is two shorter (1.73 Å) and two longer (1.80 Å) Al–O bond length. In the fourth Al site, Al is bonded to four O atoms to form AlO4 tetrahedra that share corners with four SiO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Al–O bond distances ranging from 1.73–1.81 Å. There are eight inequivalent Si sites. In the first Si site, Si is bonded to four O atoms to form SiO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two AlO4 tetrahedra and corners with two SiO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Si–O bond distances ranging from 1.61–1.65 Å. In the second Si site, Si is bonded to four O atoms to form SiO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two AlO4 tetrahedra and corners with two SiO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Si–O bond distances ranging from 1.61–1.65 Å. In the third Si site, Si is bonded to four O atoms to form SiO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two AlO4 tetrahedra and corners with two SiO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Si–O bond distances ranging from 1.61–1.65 Å. In the fourth Si site, Si is bonded to four O atoms to form SiO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two AlO4 tetrahedra and corners with two SiO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Si–O bond distances ranging from 1.61–1.65 Å. In the fifth Si site, Si is bonded to four O atoms to form SiO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two AlO4 tetrahedra and corners with two SiO4 tetrahedra. In the twenty-fifth O site, O is bonded in a distorted trigonal planar geometry to one Ca, one Al, and one Si atom. In the twenty-sixth O site, O is bonded in a distorted trigonal planar geometry to one Ca, one Al, and one Si atom. In the twenty-seventh O site, O is bonded in a water-like geometry to one Ca and one O atom. The O–O bond length is 1.33 Å. In the twenty-eighth O site, O is bonded in a bent 120 degrees geometry to two O atoms. The O–O bond length is 1.26 Å. In the twenty-ninth O site, O is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to one Ca and one O atom. The O–O bond length is 1.24 Å. In the thirtieth O site, O is bonded in a distorted L-shaped geometry to one Ca and one O atom. In the thirty-first O site, O is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O atom. In the thirty-second O site, O is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O atom. In the thirty-third O site, O is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O atom.

Materials Data on Ca2Al4Si8O33 by Materials Project

(CaAl2(SiO4)4)4O2 crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/m space group. The structure is three-dimensional and consists of two water molecules and one CaAl2(SiO4)4 framework. In the CaAl2(SiO4)4 framework, Ca is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to seven O atoms. There are a spread of Ca–O bond distances ranging from 2.33–2.98 Å. Al is bonded to four O atoms to form AlO4 tetrahedra that share corners with four SiO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Al–O bond distances ranging from 1.73–1.80 Å. There are two inequivalent Si sites. In the first Si site, Si is bonded to four O atoms to form SiO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two equivalent AlO4 tetrahedra and corners with two SiO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Si–O bond distances ranging from 1.62–1.64 Å. In the second Si site, Si is bonded to four O atoms to form SiO4 tetrahedra that share corners with two equivalent AlO4 tetrahedra and corners with two SiO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Si–O bond distances ranging from 1.60–1.65 Å. There are ten inequivalent O sites. In the first O site, O is bonded in a distorted trigonal planar geometry to one Ca, one Al, and one Si atom. In the second O site, O is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to two Si atoms. In the third O site, O is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to one Al and one Si atom. In the fourth O site, O is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to two equivalent Si atoms. In the fifth O site, O is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to one Al and one Si atom. In the sixth O site, O is bonded in an L-shaped geometry to two equivalent O atoms. Materials Data on Ca2Al4Si8O33 by Materials Project

(CaAl2Si4O15)4(O2)3 crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/m space group. The structure is three-dimensional and consists of six water molecules and one CaAl2Si4O15 framework. In the CaAl2Si4O15 framework, Ca is bonded to seven O atoms to form distorted CaO7 pentagonal bipyramids that share corners with four SiO4 tetrahedra and edges with two equivalent AlO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Ca–O bond distances ranging from 2.34–2.57 Å. Al is bonded to four O atoms to form AlO4 tetrahedra that share corners with four SiO4 tetrahedra and an edgeedge with one CaO7 pentagonal bipyramid. There are a spread of Al–O bond distances ranging from 1.72–1.80 Å. There are two inequivalent Si sites. In the first Si site, Si is bonded to four O atoms to form SiO4 tetrahedra that share a cornercorner with one CaO7 pentagonal bipyramid, corners with two equivalent AlO4 tetrahedra, and corners with two SiO4 tetrahedra. There is one shorter (1.62 Å) and three longer (1.64 Å) Si–O bond length. In the second Si site, Si is bonded to four O atoms to form SiO4 tetrahedra that share a cornercorner with one CaO7 pentagonal bipyramid, corners with two equivalent AlO4 tetrahedra, and corners with two SiO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Si–O bond distances ranging from 1.61–1.65 Å. There are nine inequivalent O sites.
