Materials Data on DyNiC2 by Materials Project

DyNiC2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Amm2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Dy3+ is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight equivalent C+2.50- atoms. There are four shorter (2.64 Å) and four longer (2.67 Å) Dy–C bond lengths. Ni2+ is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent C+2.50- atoms. There is two shorter (1.94 Å) and two longer (1.99 Å) Ni–C bond length. C+2.50- is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Dy3+, two equivalent Ni2+, and one C+2.50- atom. The C–C bond length is 1.37 Å.

Materials Data on Dy4Ni13C4 by Materials Project

Dy4Ni13C4 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Dy sites. In the first Dy site, Dy is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to fourteen Ni atoms. There are a spread of Dy–Ni bond distances ranging from 2.68–3.04 Å. In the second Dy site, Dy is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to eleven Ni and four equivalent C atoms. There are a spread of Dy–Ni bond distances ranging from 2.63–3.21 Å. All Dy–C bond lengths are 2.71 Å. There are five inequivalent Ni sites. In the first Ni site, Ni is bonded in a linear geometry to four Dy and two equivalent C atoms. Both Ni–C bond lengths are 1.93 Å. In the second Ni site, Ni is bonded to four equivalent Dy and eight Ni atoms to form NiDy4Ni8 cuboctahedra that share corners with four equivalent CNi6 octahedra and faces with two equivalent NiDy4Ni8 cuboctahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 34°. There are four shorter (2.41 Å) and four longer (2.51 Å) Ni–Ni bond lengths. In the third Ni site, Ni is bonded in a distorted bent 150 degrees geometry to four Dy and two C atoms. There is one shorter (1.89 Å) and one longer (1.91 Å) Ni–C bond length. In the fourth Ni site, Ni is bonded in a single-bond geometry to four Dy, three Ni, and one C atom. Both Ni–Ni bond lengths are 2.43 Å. The Ni–C bond length is 1.87 Å. In the fifth Ni site, Ni is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to three Dy and six Ni atoms. There are two inequivalent C sites. In the first C site, C is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Dy, two equivalent Ni, and one C atom. The C–C bond length is 1.36 Å. In the second C site, C is bonded to six Ni atoms to form CNi6 octahedra that share corners with two equivalent NiDy4Ni8 cuboctahedra and corners with two equivalent CNi6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°.

Materials Data on Dy11(Ni10C)6 by Materials Project

Dy11(Ni10C)6 crystallizes in the cubic Im-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Dy sites. In the first Dy site, Dy is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to fifteen Ni atoms. There are a spread of Dy–Ni bond distances ranging from 2.83–2.98 Å. In the second Dy site, Dy is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to twelve Ni and two equivalent C atoms. There are four shorter (3.11 Å) and eight longer (3.27 Å) Dy–Ni bond lengths. Both Dy–C bond lengths are 2.62 Å. There are four inequivalent Ni sites. In the first Ni site, Ni is bonded in a single-bond geometry to four equivalent Dy and one C atom. The Ni–C bond length is 1.84 Å. In the second Ni site, Ni is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Dy and twelve Ni atoms. There are four shorter (2.57 Å) and eight longer (2.63 Å) Ni–Ni bond lengths. In the third Ni site, Ni is bonded in a single-bond geometry to two equivalent Dy, five Ni, and one C atom. There are two shorter (2.44 Å) and two longer (2.50 Å) Ni–Ni bond lengths. The Ni–C bond length is 1.88 Å. In the fourth Ni site, Ni is bonded to three Dy and nine Ni atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge, face, and corner-sharing NiDy3Ni9 cuboctahedra. There are one shorter (2.31 Å) and two longer (2.37 Å) Ni–Ni bond lengths. C is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to one Dy and five Ni atoms.
