Materials Data on Be4CoGe by Materials Project
Be4CoGe is Hexagonal Laves-derived structured and crystallizes in the cubic F-43m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Be is bonded to six equivalent Be, three equivalent Co, and three equivalent Ge atoms to form a mixture of corner, edge, and face-sharing BeBe6Co3Ge3 cuboctahedra. There are three shorter (2.11 Å) and three longer (2.17 Å) Be–Be bond lengths. All Be–Co bond lengths are 2.50 Å. All Be–Ge bond lengths are 2.51 Å. Co is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to twelve equivalent Be and four equivalent Ge atoms. All Co–Ge bond lengths are 2.62 Å. Ge is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to twelve equivalent Be and four equivalent Co atoms.
