Materials Data on Be4CuSi by Materials Project
Be4CuSi is Hexagonal Laves-derived structured and crystallizes in the cubic F-43m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Be is bonded to six equivalent Be, three equivalent Cu, and three equivalent Si atoms to form a mixture of corner, edge, and face-sharing BeBe6Cu3Si3 cuboctahedra. All Be–Be bond lengths are 2.16 Å. All Be–Cu bond lengths are 2.54 Å. All Be–Si bond lengths are 2.54 Å. Cu is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to twelve equivalent Be and four equivalent Si atoms. All Cu–Si bond lengths are 2.65 Å. Si is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to twelve equivalent Be and four equivalent Cu atoms.
