Materials Data on BeCo by Materials Project

BeCo is Tetraauricupride structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Be is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Co atoms. All Be–Co bond lengths are 2.24 Å. Co is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Be atoms.

Materials Data on Be3Co by Materials Project

Be3Co is beta Cu3Ti-like structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Be is bonded to eight equivalent Be and four equivalent Co atoms to form distorted BeBe8Co4 cuboctahedra that share corners with four equivalent CoBe12 cuboctahedra, corners with fourteen equivalent BeBe8Co4 cuboctahedra, edges with six equivalent CoBe12 cuboctahedra, edges with twelve equivalent BeBe8Co4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent CoBe12 cuboctahedra, and faces with sixteen equivalent BeBe8Co4 cuboctahedra. There are a spread of Be–Be bond distances ranging from 2.25–2.31 Å. There are two shorter (2.25 Å) and two longer (2.30 Å) Be–Co bond lengths. Co is bonded to twelve equivalent Be atoms to form CoBe12 cuboctahedra that share corners with six equivalent CoBe12 cuboctahedra, corners with twelve equivalent BeBe8Co4 cuboctahedra, edges with eighteen equivalent BeBe8Co4 cuboctahedra, faces with eight equivalent CoBe12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent BeBe8Co4 cuboctahedra.

Materials Data on Be5Co by Materials Project

Be5Co crystallizes in the cubic F-43m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Be sites. In the first Be site, Be is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to twelve equivalent Be and four equivalent Co atoms. All Be–Be bond lengths are 2.39 Å. All Be–Co bond lengths are 2.50 Å. In the second Be site, Be is bonded to nine Be and three equivalent Co atoms to form a mixture of corner, edge, and face-sharing BeBe9Co3 cuboctahedra. There are three shorter (2.03 Å) and three longer (2.05 Å) Be–Be bond lengths. All Be–Co bond lengths are 2.39 Å. Co is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to sixteen Be atoms.

Materials Data on Be2Co by Materials Project

Be2Co crystallizes in the orthorhombic Fmmm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of four Be2Co ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Be is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Co atoms. Both Be–Co bond lengths are 2.20 Å. Co is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Be atoms.

Materials Data on Be12Co by Materials Project

Be12Co crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are three inequivalent Be sites. In the first Be site, Be is bonded to ten Be and two equivalent Co atoms to form a mixture of distorted face, edge, and corner-sharing BeBe10Co2 cuboctahedra. There are a spread of Be–Be bond distances ranging from 2.05–2.17 Å. Both Be–Co bond lengths are 2.73 Å. In the second Be site, Be is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to ten Be and two equivalent Co atoms. There are a spread of Be–Be bond distances ranging from 2.16–2.34 Å. Both Be–Co bond lengths are 2.55 Å. In the third Be site, Be is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to nine Be and one Co atom. The Be–Be bond length is 2.22 Å. The Be–Co bond length is 2.48 Å. Co is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to twenty Be atoms.

Be3Co is Uranium Silicide-like structured and crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Be sites. In the first Be site, Be is bonded to eight Be and four equivalent Co atoms to form BeBe8Co4 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent BeBe8Co4 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent BeBe8Co4 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent CoBe12 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent CoBe12 cuboctahedra, and faces with ten equivalent BeBe8Co4 cuboctahedra. There are four shorter (2.18 Å) and four longer (2.33 Å) Be–Be bond lengths. All Be–Co bond lengths are 2.33 Å. In the second Be site, Be is bonded in a distorted square co-planar geometry to eight equivalent Be and four equivalent Co atoms. All Be–Co bond lengths are 2.18 Å. Co is bonded to twelve Be atoms to form CoBe12 cuboctahedra that share corners with four equivalent CoBe12 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent CoBe12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent BeBe8Co4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent CoBe12 cuboctahedra, and faces with eight equivalent BeBe8Co4 cuboctahedra.
