Materials Data on BaHg2 by Materials Project

BaHg2 is hexagonal omega structure structured and crystallizes in the orthorhombic Imma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ba is bonded to twelve equivalent Hg atoms to form a mixture of edge and face-sharing BaHg12 cuboctahedra. There are a spread of Ba–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.71–3.73 Å. Hg is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Ba and three equivalent Hg atoms. All Hg–Hg bond lengths are 3.02 Å.

Materials Data on BaHg11 by Materials Project

BaHg11 crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ba is bonded to twenty Hg atoms to form distorted BaHg20 cuboctahedra that share corners with four equivalent HgHg12 cuboctahedra and faces with eight equivalent BaHg20 cuboctahedra. There are a spread of Ba–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.82–4.15 Å. There are seven inequivalent Hg sites. In the first Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to one Ba and nine Hg atoms. The Hg–Ba bond length is 3.82 Å. There are four shorter (3.23 Å) and five longer (3.36 Å) Hg–Hg bond lengths. In the second Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to one Ba and nine Hg atoms. The Hg–Ba bond length is 3.82 Å. There are four shorter (3.23 Å) and four longer (3.36 Å) Hg–Hg bond lengths. In the third Hg site, Hg is bonded to twelve Hg atoms to form HgHg12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent BaHg20 cuboctahedra. All Hg–Hg bond lengths are 3.36 Å. In the fourth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Ba and six Hg atoms. There are three shorter (3.10 Å) and three longer (3.16 Å) Hg–Hg bond lengths. In the fifth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a distorted q6 geometry to two equivalent Ba and eight Hg atoms. There are two shorter (3.17 Å) and four longer (3.23 Å) Hg–Hg bond lengths. In the sixth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to one Ba and nine Hg atoms. There are four shorter (3.23 Å) and four longer (3.36 Å) Hg–Hg bond lengths. In the seventh Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to one Ba and nine Hg atoms. The Hg–Ba bond length is 3.82 Å. Both Hg–Hg bond lengths are 3.36 Å.

HgBa is Tetraauricupride structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ba is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Hg atoms. All Ba–Hg bond lengths are 3.66 Å. Hg is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Ba atoms.

Materials Data on Ba2Hg by Materials Project

HgBa2 crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of two HgBa2 sheets oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Ba is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Hg atoms. All Ba–Hg bond lengths are 3.62 Å. Hg is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Ba atoms.

BaHg3 crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ba is bonded to twelve equivalent Hg atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner and face-sharing BaHg12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (3.58 Å) and six longer (3.72 Å) Ba–Hg bond lengths. Hg is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Ba atoms.

Materials Data on Ba7Hg31 by Materials Project

Ba7Hg31 crystallizes in the hexagonal P-6m2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are four inequivalent Ba sites. In the first Ba site, Ba is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to fourteen Hg atoms. There are a spread of Ba–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.58–3.94 Å. In the second Ba site, Ba is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight Hg atoms. There are two shorter (3.57 Å) and six longer (3.68 Å) Ba–Hg bond lengths. In the third Ba site, Ba is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to sixteen Hg atoms. There are a spread of Ba–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.43–4.16 Å. In the fourth Ba site, Ba is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to fifteen Hg atoms. There are a spread of Ba–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.50–3.80 Å. There are seven inequivalent Hg sites. In the first Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four Ba and two equivalent Hg atoms. Both Hg–Hg bond lengths are 2.97 Å. In the second Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Ba and six Hg atoms. There are a spread of Hg–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.05–3.32 Å. In the third Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to three Ba and seven Hg atoms. There are a spread of Hg–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.29–3.38 Å. In the fourth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to four Ba and four Hg atoms. There are three shorter (2.97 Å) and one longer (3.01 Å) Hg–Hg bond lengths. In the fifth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to four Ba and four Hg atoms. All Hg–Hg bond lengths are 3.04 Å. In the sixth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to four Ba and six Hg atoms. In the seventh Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to three Ba and three Hg atoms.

Ba20Hg103 crystallizes in the cubic F-43m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are four inequivalent Ba sites. In the first Ba site, Ba is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to eighteen Hg atoms. There are a spread of Ba–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.69–3.87 Å. In the second Ba site, Ba is bonded in a 11-coordinate geometry to seventeen Hg atoms. There are a spread of Ba–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.56–4.04 Å. In the third Ba site, Ba is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to fifteen Hg atoms. There are a spread of Ba–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.39–3.68 Å. In the fourth Ba site, Ba is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to sixteen Hg atoms. There are a spread of Ba–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.77–3.92 Å. There are thirteen inequivalent Hg sites. In the first Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to two Ba and eight Hg atoms. There are a spread of Hg–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.09–3.36 Å. In the second Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to three Ba and six Hg atoms. There are a spread of Hg–Hg bond distances ranging from 2.98–3.32 Å. In the third Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to three Ba and five Hg atoms. There are a spread of Hg–Hg bond distances ranging from 2.96–3.03 Å. In the fourth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Ba and seven Hg atoms. There are a spread of Hg–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.19–3.35 Å. In the fifth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a distorted trigonal planar geometry to three Ba atoms. In the sixth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to four Ba and five Hg atoms. There are one shorter (2.95 Å) and one longer (3.07 Å) Hg–Hg bond lengths. In the seventh Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Ba and nine Hg atoms. In the eighth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a tetrahedral geometry to four equivalent Ba atoms. In the ninth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight Hg atoms. There are one shorter (3.15 Å) and three longer (3.28 Å) Hg–Hg bond lengths. In the tenth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a distorted body-centered cubic geometry to four Ba and four Hg atoms. The Hg–Hg bond length is 2.99 Å. In the eleventh Hg site, Hg is bonded in a distorted q6 geometry to three equivalent Ba and six Hg atoms. All Hg–Hg bond lengths are 3.14 Å. In the twelfth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Ba and four Hg atoms. All Hg–Hg bond lengths are 3.08 Å. In the thirteenth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to four Ba and six Hg atoms.

BaHg6 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ba is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to sixteen Hg atoms. There are a spread of Ba–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.63–3.96 Å. There are six inequivalent Hg sites. In the first Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Ba and three Hg atoms. There are a spread of Hg–Hg bond distances ranging from 2.97–2.99 Å. In the second Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Ba and five Hg atoms. There are a spread of Hg–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.00–3.14 Å. In the third Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Ba and five Hg atoms. There are a spread of Hg–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.11–3.26 Å. In the fourth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Ba and five Hg atoms. The Hg–Hg bond length is 3.02 Å. In the fifth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Ba and five Hg atoms. The Hg–Hg bond length is 3.05 Å. In the sixth Hg site, Hg is bonded in a distorted pentagonal planar geometry to two equivalent Ba and three Hg atoms.
