Y2AuHg crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two Y2AuHg ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Y is bonded in a linear geometry to one Au and one Hg atom. The Y–Au bond length is 2.84 Å. The Y–Hg bond length is 3.06 Å. Au is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Y atoms. Hg is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Y atoms.
YAuHg2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two YAuHg2 ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Y is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Hg atoms. Both Y–Hg bond lengths are 3.12 Å. Au is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Hg atoms. Both Au–Hg bond lengths are 2.72 Å. Hg is bonded in a linear geometry to one Y and one Au atom.
