Materials Data on SmTeAs by Materials Project
SmAsTe crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sm3+ is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to four equivalent As1- and five equivalent Te2- atoms. There are a spread of Sm–As bond distances ranging from 3.06–3.24 Å. There are a spread of Sm–Te bond distances ranging from 3.17–3.29 Å. As1- is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Sm3+ and two equivalent As1- atoms. Both As–As bond lengths are 2.64 Å. Te2- is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five equivalent Sm3+ atoms.
