Materials Data on TaNiAs by Materials Project

TaNiAs crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ta is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five equivalent Ni and five equivalent As atoms. There are a spread of Ta–Ni bond distances ranging from 2.83–2.90 Å. There are a spread of Ta–As bond distances ranging from 2.67–2.72 Å. Ni is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to five equivalent Ta and four equivalent As atoms. There are two shorter (2.36 Å) and two longer (2.37 Å) Ni–As bond lengths. As is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to five equivalent Ta and four equivalent Ni atoms.
