Materials Data on Cd3As2 by Materials Project

Cd3As2 crystallizes in the cubic Pn-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Cd2+ is bonded to four equivalent As3- atoms to form a mixture of corner and edge-sharing CdAs4 tetrahedra. All Cd–As bond lengths are 2.81 Å. As3- is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Cd2+ atoms.

Cd3As2 is Hausmannite-like structured and crystallizes in the tetragonal P4_2/nmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are three inequivalent Cd2+ sites. In the first Cd2+ site, Cd2+ is bonded to four As3- atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing CdAs4 tetrahedra. There are two shorter (2.64 Å) and two longer (2.93 Å) Cd–As bond lengths. In the second Cd2+ site, Cd2+ is bonded to four As3- atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing CdAs4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Cd–As bond distances ranging from 2.68–3.16 Å. In the third Cd2+ site, Cd2+ is bonded to four As3- atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing CdAs4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Cd–As bond distances ranging from 2.69–3.14 Å. There are three inequivalent As3- sites. In the first As3- site, As3- is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six Cd2+ atoms. In the second As3- site, As3- is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to six Cd2+ atoms. In the third As3- site, As3- is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six Cd2+ atoms.

In the first Cd2+ site, Cd2+ is bonded to four As3- atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing CdAs4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Cd–As bond distances ranging from 2.69–3.05 Å. In the second Cd2+ site, Cd2+ is bonded to four As3- atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing CdAs4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Cd–As bond distances ranging from 2.65–3.00 Å. In the third Cd2+ site, Cd2+ is bonded to four As3- atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing CdAs4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Cd–As bond distances ranging from 2.71–3.10 Å. There are three inequivalent As3- sites. In the first As3- site, As3- is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six Cd2+ atoms. In the second As3- site, As3- is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six Cd2+ atoms. In the third As3- site, As3- is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six Cd2+ atoms.

Materials Data on CdAs by Materials Project

CdAs crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pbca space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Cd2+ is bonded to four equivalent As2- atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing CdAs4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Cd–As bond distances ranging from 2.69–2.99 Å. As2- is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Cd2+ and one As2- atom. The As–As bond length is 2.48 Å.

Cd3As2 crystallizes in the tetragonal I4_1/acd space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are three inequivalent Cd2+ sites. In the first Cd2+ site, Cd2+ is bonded to four As3- atoms to form a mixture of corner and edge-sharing CdAs4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Cd–As bond distances ranging from 2.67–2.96 Å. In the second Cd2+ site, Cd2+ is bonded to four As3- atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner and edge-sharing CdAs4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Cd–As bond distances ranging from 2.70–3.04 Å. In the third Cd2+ site, Cd2+ is bonded to four As3- atoms to form a mixture of corner and edge-sharing CdAs4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Cd–As bond distances ranging from 2.56–2.88 Å. There are five inequivalent As3- sites. In the first As3- site, As3- is bonded to four equivalent Cd2+ atoms to form corner-sharing AsCd4 tetrahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 61–67°. In the second As3- site, As3- is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight Cd2+ atoms. In the third As3- site, As3- is bonded to six Cd2+ atoms to form distorted AsCd6 octahedra that share corners with four AsCd6 octahedra, corners with two equivalent AsCd4 tetrahedra, and edges with four AsCd6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 58–59°. In the fourth As3- site, As3- is bonded to six Cd2+ atoms to form distorted AsCd6 octahedra that share corners with four AsCd6 octahedra, corners with two equivalent AsCd4 tetrahedra, and edges with four AsCd6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 58–60°. In the fifth As3- site, As3- is bonded to six Cd2+ atoms to form distorted AsCd6 octahedra that share corners with four AsCd6 octahedra, corners with two equivalent AsCd4 tetrahedra, and edges with four AsCd6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 59–60°.

Materials Data on CdAs3 by Materials Project

CdAs3 crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Cd2+ is bonded to twelve equivalent As+0.67- atoms to form a mixture of face and corner-sharing CdAs12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (3.07 Å) and six longer (3.08 Å) Cd–As bond lengths. As+0.67- is bonded in a distorted see-saw-like geometry to four equivalent Cd2+ atoms.

Cd3As is beta Cu3Ti-like structured and crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Cd sites. In the first Cd site, Cd is bonded to eight Cd and four equivalent As atoms to form distorted CdCd8As4 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent CdCd8As4 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent AsCd12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen CdCd8As4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent AsCd12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen CdCd8As4 cuboctahedra. There are four shorter (3.14 Å) and four longer (3.20 Å) Cd–Cd bond lengths. All Cd–As bond lengths are 3.14 Å. In the second Cd site, Cd is bonded to eight equivalent Cd and four equivalent As atoms to form CdCd8As4 cuboctahedra that share corners with four equivalent CdCd8As4 cuboctahedra, corners with eight equivalent AsCd12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four CdCd8As4 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent AsCd12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve CdCd8As4 cuboctahedra. All Cd–As bond lengths are 3.20 Å. As is bonded to twelve Cd atoms to form AsCd12 cuboctahedra that share corners with four equivalent AsCd12 cuboctahedra, corners with eight equivalent CdCd8As4 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent AsCd12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent CdCd8As4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent AsCd12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen CdCd8As4 cuboctahedra.
