Materials Data on Al2Pt by Materials Project
PtAl2 is Fluorite structured and crystallizes in the cubic Fm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Pt is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Al atoms. All Pt–Al bond lengths are 2.58 Å. Al is bonded to four equivalent Pt atoms to form a mixture of corner and edge-sharing AlPt4 tetrahedra.
