Here, we report the complete genome sequence of the tetrachloroethene-to-trichloroethene dechlorinator Sulfurospirillum sp. strain ACS TCE . The genome consists of a 38.05-kb circular plasmid and a 2.69-Mb circular chromosome, which encodes 3 identical reductive dehalogenases with 91.47% amino acid identity to the PceA of Sulfurospirillum multivorans strain DSM 12446.
Antimicrobial resistance is a serious global public health concern because of its prevalence and ubiquitous distribution. The rapid dissemination of antibiotic resistance genes is thought to be the result of the massive overuse of antibiotics in agriculture and therapeutics.

Here, we demonstrate that ultrafast laser filaments can excite chlorophyll fluorescence in green algae and show that it is a promising technique for remote detection of uranium exposure from the shape of the fluorescence time profile.
Congress enacted the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) without including specific provisions for protecting the privacy of healthrelated information. The law gave Congress three years to enact such requirements and provided that if it failed to do so the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) was obligated to promulgate regulations to implement the statutory standards. When Congress failed to meet the deadline, the obligation to issue privacy regulations passed to DHHS. DHHS received over 52,000 comments on the proposed regulations. Responses to the comments and the final rule were published in the Federal Register on December 28, 2000. The cost of implementing the regulations over a ten-year period was estimated at $17.6 billion by DHHS. Industry estimates the cost at five times that amount.

Non-hydrogen constituents in the fuel steam can cause irreversible damage to FC systems and therefore should be avoided. The objectives are: 1. Develop a low-cost fast response device (analyzer) to measure impurities in a dry hydrogen fuel stream at or above the SAE J2719 levels, 2. Develop understanding of a working mechanism and improve the analyzer by identifying the best materials and their configuration, and 3. Test the analyzer in real-world environments.

Our team calculated ‘clinical decision levels’ at which treatment may be warranted (i.e., bioassay and wound measurements which correspond to specific dose thresholds). The actual risk to the patient corresponding to this dose threshold is uncertain – the CED may not tell the whole story. We recently reviewed LANL medical records to characterize adverse events associated with treatment. Future work should include medical records from other institutions and a review and analysis of data to quantify benefit of treatment with a focus on the question, "What factors predict whether treatment will be beneficial?"
In order to meet the requirements of U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in DOE O 435.1, Radioactive Waste Management, a composite analysis (CA) must be completed for the Central Plateau at the Hanford Site. The updated Hanford CA requires estimates of fate and transport of radionuclides in the groundwater from multiple sources within and downgradient of the Central Plateau.
