Study of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery characteristics

Sources of geometric and radiometric fidelity errors in AN/APQ-102A radar imagery are discussed, along with a digital computer program to correct the distortions. The major effort, a computer program which will process digitalized recorded AN/APQ-102A phase histories into imagery, is described. All computer programs are listed.

High-Performance Spaceflight Computing (HPSC) Program Overview

The High Performance Spaceflight Computing (HPSC) project is dramatically advancing the state of the art for spaceflight computing, providing both increased performance and greater operational flexibility. Initial studies derived an reference architecture for the HPSC Chiplet, and this has evolved as development has progress. NASA and JPL are jointly developing HPSC Middleware to ease the development of future applications for the Chiplet. Several NASA use cases are identified for HPSC, ranging from smallsats to crewed missions.

General Fluid System Simulation Program to Model Secondary Flows in Turbomachinery

The complexity and variety of turbomachinery flow circuits created a need for a general fluid system simulation program for test data anomaly resolution as well as design review. The objective of the paper is to present a computer program that has been developed to support Marshall Space Flight Center's turbomachinery internal flow analysis efforts. The computer program solves for the mass. energy and species conservation equation at each node and flow rate equation at each branch of the network by a novel numerical procedure which is a combination of both Newton-Ralphson and successive substitution method and uses a thermodynamic property program for computing real gas properties. A generalized, robust, modular, and 'user-friendly' computer program has been developed to model internal flow rates, pressures, temperatures, concentrations of gas mixtures and axial thrusts. The program can be used for any network for compressible and incompressible flows, choked flow, change of phase and gaseous mixturecs. The code has been validated by comparing the predictions with Space Shuttle Main Engine test data.

Radial rib antenna surface deviation analysis program

A digital computer program was developed which analyzes any radial rib antenna with ribs radiating from a central hub. The program has the capability for calculating the antenna surface contour (reversed pillowing effect), the optimum rib shape for minimizing the rms surface error, and the actual rms surface error. Rib deflection due to mesh tension and catenary cable tension can also be compensated for, and the pattern from which the mesh gores are cut can be determined.

Photomask and pattern programs

Package of computer programs helps designers with layout and graphics of photomasks. Photomasks are specifically useful to applications involving fine reproducibility, repetition, and fabrication on planar surfaces of materials, items fabricated from photomasks include circuit boards, magnetic bubble devices and integrated optic circuits.

A comprehensive analytical model of rotorcraft aerodynamics and dynamics. Part 3: Program manual

The computer program for a comprehensive analytical model of rotorcraft aerodynamics and dynamics is described. This analysis is designed to calculate rotor performance, loads, and noise; the helicopter vibration and gust response; the flight dynamics and handling qualities; and the system aeroelastic stability. The analysis is a combination of structural, inertial, and aerodynamic models that is applicable to a wide range of problems and a wide class of vehicles. The analysis is intended for use in the design, testing, and evaluation of rotors and rotorcraft and to be a basis for further development of rotary wing theories.

Orbit Transfer Programs

Collection of computer programs developed that solve problem of transfer between noncoplanar circular orbits for spacecraft with chemical propulsion systems. Two basic programs given. First, referred to as "exact solution," gives complete, exact time histories of transfers. Second, or "approximate solution," program gives approximate information on transfer time and fuel cost but provides no detail of trajectory.
