Synthesis of a series of rare-earth-based multi-anion chalcogenide iodides RE 3 Si 2 Se x S 8− x I (RE = La, Ce, Pr, and Nd) using the flux-assisted boron–chalcogen mixture method

Single crystals and polycrystalline powders of rare earth mixed chalcogenide iodides La 3 Si 2 Se 1.21 S 6.79 I, Ce 3 Si 2 Se 1.39 S 6.61 I, Pr 3 Si 2 Se 1.22 S 6.78 I, and Nd 3 Si 2 Se 1.18 S 6.82 I were prepared using the reactive flux-assisted boron–chalcogen mixture (BCM) method at 850 °C. All compounds crystallized in the monoclinic crystal system, space group C2/c (space group number 15). The series adopts the La 3 Si 2 O 8 Cl structure type, containing isolated SiQ 4 tetrahedra connected by REQ 8 (RE = La, Ce, Pr and Nd) polyhedra; this arrangement creates tunnels that are filled by I atoms. The partial substitution of S by Se was carried out to modulate the optical properties. Phase pure samples and uniform solid solutions were obtained for all compositions as determined using powder X-ray diffraction patterns. Polycrystalline powders were used for physical property measurements, including magnetic susceptibility and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance. The solid-state UV-Vis data for the polycrystalline La 3 Si 2 Se 1.21 S 6.79 I, Ce 3 Si 2 Se 1.39 S 6.61 I, and Pr 3 Si 2 Se 1.22 S 6.78 I samples revealed band gaps of E g = 2.5(1), 2.2(1), and 2.3(1) eV, typical of semiconductors. Magnetic measurements indicated that Ce 3 Si 2 Se 1.39 S 6.61 I and Nd 3 Si 2 Se 1.18 S 6.82 I exhibit paramagnetic behavior with slightly negative Weiss constants θ = −25 and −38. The photoluminescence spectrum of Ce 3 Si 2 Se 1.39 S 6.61 I exhibits a broad emission band around ∼493 nm.

Bi aliovalent substitution in Li 7 La 3 Zr 2 O 12 garnets: Structural and ionic conductivity effects

We report on the synthesis of cubic-phase garnet-type solid-state electrolytes based on Bi-doped Li 7 La 3 Zr 2 O 12 (LLZO). Bi aliovalent substitution of Zr in LLZO utilizing the Pechini processing method is employed to synthesize Li 7-x La 3 Zr 2-x Bi x O 12 compounds. A strong dependence of the ionic conductivity on Bi content is observed, and under our synthesis and sintering conditions, a >100-fold increase over the un-doped sample is observed for x=0.75. Cubic-phase Li 6 La 3 Zr 1 BiO 12 compounds are generated upon annealing in air in the temperature range 650 °C-900 °C. In contrast, in the absence of Bi, the cubic garnet phase of Li 7 La 3 Zr 2 O 12 is not formed below 700 °C and a transformation to the tetragonal phase is observed at similar to 900 °C for this un-doped compound. The role of Bi in lowering the formation temperature of the garnet cubic phase and in the ionic conductivity improvements is investigated in this work. We ascribe the effect of Bi-doping on ionic conductivity increments to changes in Li + -site occupancy and lattice parameters and the reduction in the formation temperature for the cubic-phase formation to rate enhancements of the solid-state reaction. To identify the site occupancy of Bi in the garnet structure, we employ synchrotron extended x-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy. Our results indicate that Bi additions occupy the Zr-type sites exclusively, to within the accuracy of the measurements.

𝛾-ray spectroscopy of 140 La decay for nuclear forensics applications

140 La is an important isotope in nuclear forensics. It is typically paired with 140 Ba as a chronometer for dating nuclear events. Here, in this work, we report the results of two measurements performed to fully characterize the decay scheme of 140 La. The experiments were performed using the Gammasphere array at Argonne National Laboratory and the CLARION2 array at Florida State University. Sources of 140 La were produced through neutron irradiation of natural lanthanum (99.9% 139 La) in the University of Massachusetts Lowell research reactor. We identify a total of 40 transitions, three of which were not previously reported. An angular correlation analysis was conducted confirming current literature 𝐽 assignments and mixing ratios. By considering all data available in the literature, we provide new recommended values for the intensities of the strongest transitions commonly used in applications.

Pervasive symmetry-lowering nanoscale structural fluctuations in the cuprate La 2−𝑥 ⁢Sr 𝑥 ⁢Cu⁢O 4

The cuprate superconductors are among the most widely studied quantum materials, yet there remain fundamental open questions regarding their electronic properties and the role of structural degrees of freedom. Recent neutron and x-ray scattering measurements uncovered exponential scaling with temperature of the strength of orthorhombic fluctuations in the tetragonal phase of La 2−𝑥⁢ Sr 𝑥 ⁢Cu⁢O 4 and Tl 2 ⁢Ba 2 ⁢Cu⁢O 6+𝛿 , unusual behavior that closely resembles prior results for the emergence of superconducting fluctuations, and that points to a common origin rooted in inherent correlated structural inhomogeneity. Here, in this study, we use neutron and x-ray diffuse scattering to provide further insight into structural fluctuations in La 2−𝑥 ⁢Sr 𝑥 ⁢Cu⁢O 4 . We perform measurements up to temperatures that approach the melting point of the undoped parent compound, and we investigate the effects of in situ in-plane uniaxial elastic stress and plastic deformation. Our neutron scattering results for the parent compound La 2 ⁢Cu⁢O 4 reveal that short-range orthorhombic fluctuations persist to the maximum experimental temperature of nearly 1000 K, i.e., to a significant fraction of the crystallization temperature. At this temperature, the spatial characteristic length extracted from the momentum-space data is still about three lattice constants. The neutron scattering experiment enables quasistatic discrimination and reveals that the response is increasingly dynamic at higher temperatures. We also find that neither compressive elastic stress along the tetragonal [110] direction nor irreversible plastic deformation activating the ⟨100⟩⁢[001] slip system significantly alter the robust orthorhombic fluctuations. Overall, these results support the notion that these fluctuations couple to subtle, underlying inhomogeneity that underpins the cuprate phase diagram. Finally, in La 1.8⁢ Sr 0.2⁢ Cu⁢O 4 , we uncover low-energy structural fluctuations at a nominally forbidden reflection that are distinct from the orthorhombic distortions. While the origin of these fluctuations is not clear, they might be related to the presence of extended defects such as dislocations or stacking faults.

Structural transition and possible pressure-induced superconductivity in a suboxide La 5 Pb 3 O

Here, in this study, we report a structural phase transition and its interplay with superconductivity in the suboxide La 5⁢ Pb 3 ⁢O. Upon cooling through 𝑇 𝑡 = 225K, La 5⁢ Pb 3⁢ O transforms from a high-temperature 𝐼⁢4/mcm to a low-temperature 𝑃⁢4/ncc structure in which La-Pb dimerization along the 𝑐 axis occurs. This transition is accompanied by anomalies in the temperature dependence of electrical resistivity and specific heat. High-pressure electrical transport measurements reveal that hydrostatic pressure suppresses the structural transition and possibly induces superconductivity with a maximum superconducting temperature of 10 K. Density functional theory calculations show minimal changes in the electronic density of states and no gap opening at 𝐸 𝐹 across 𝑇 𝑡 , suggesting that the transition is driven by bonding effects rather than Fermi surface instability. These findings establish La 5⁢ Pb 3 ⁢O as a promising platform for exploring the interplay between weak structural transitions and superconductivity.

Avoided ferromagnetic quantum critical point in pressurized La 5 Co 2 Ge 3

We present the pressure-temperature phase diagram La 5 Co 2 Ge 3 up to ~ 5 GPa, which was constructed from magnetization, resistivity, and specific heat measurements. At ambient pressure, La 5 Co 2 Ge 3 is an itinerant ferromagnet with a Curie temperature T C ~ 4 K. Upon increasing pressure up to ~ 1.7 GPa, T C is suppressed down to ~ 3 K. Upon further increasing pressure, our results suggest that La 5 Co 2 Ge 3 enters a different low-temperature ground state. The corresponding transition temperature T* has a nonmonotonic pressure dependence up to ~ 5 GPa. Our results demonstrate that the ferromagnetic quantum critical point in La 5 Co 2 Ge 3 is avoided by the appearance of a different, likely magnetically ordered, state that has an antiferromagnetic component.

Nature of the ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic transition in Y 1- x La x TiO 3

In this work, we explore the magnetically ordered ground state of the isovalently substituted Mott insulator Y 1- x La x TiO 3 for x≤ 0.3 via single-crystal growth, magnetometry, neutron diffraction, x-ray magnetic circular dichroism, muon spin rotation, and small-angle neutron scattering (SANS). We find that the decrease in the magnetic transition temperature on approaching the ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic phase boundary at the La concentration xc ≈ 0.3 is accompanied by a strong suppression of both bulk and local ordered magnetic moments, along with a volume wise separation into magnetically ordered and paramagnetic regions. The thermal phase transition does not show conventional second-order behavior since neither a clear signature of dynamic critical behavior nor a power-law divergence of the magnetic correlation length is found for the studied substitution range; this finding becomes increasingly obvious with increasing La substitution. We find no evidence for a spin-glass phase. Finally, from SANS and magnetometry measurements, we discern a crossover from easy-axis to easy-plane magnetocrystalline anisotropy with increasing La substitution. These results indicate complex changes in magnetic structure upon approaching the phase boundary.

Magnetic excitations in the double-perovskite iridates La 2 M IrO 6 ( M = Co , Ni , and Zn ) mediated by 3 d – 5 d hybridization

By performing resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS) measurements at the Ir L 3 edge, we have investigated the low-energy elementary excitations in a series of double-perovskite iridate single crystals, La 2 MIrO 6 (M=Co,Ni,and Zn). Almost dispersionless magnetic excitations at ~42(6) meV and ~35(5) meV have been observed in crystals containing magnetic 3d ions, La 2 CoIrO 6 and La 2 NiIrO 6 , respectively. In contrast, this low-energy magnetic excitation is absent in La 2 ZnIrO 6 in which the 3d ions are nonmagnetic, suggesting the importance of 3d–5d hybridization in the magnetic properties of these double-perovskite iridates. Furthermore, the magnetic excitation is suppressed completely above the magnetic ordering temperature, suggesting the inadequacy of using a simple spin Hamiltonian to describe magnetism of these materials.

Electronic structure, self-doping, and superconducting instability in the alternating single-layer trilayer stacking nickelates La 3 ⁢Ni 2 ⁢O 7

Motivated by the recently proposed alternating single-layer trilayer stacking structure for the nickelate La 3 ⁢Ni 2 ⁢O 7 , we comprehensively study this system using ab initio and random-phase approximation techniques. Here, our analysis unveils similarities between this novel La 3⁢ Ni 2 ⁢O 7 structure and other Ruddlesden-Popper nickelate superconductors, such as a similar charge-transfer gap value and orbital-selective behavior of the eg orbitals. Pressure primarily increases the bandwidths of the Ni e g bands, suggesting an enhancement of the itinerant properties of those e g states. By changing the cell volume ratio V/V 0 from 0.9 to 1.10, we found that the bilayer structure in La 3 ⁢Ni 2 ⁢O 7 always has lower energy than the single-layer trilayer stacking La 3 ⁢Ni 2 ⁢O 7 . In addition, we observe a “self-doping” effect (compared to the average 1.5 electrons per eg orbital per site of the entire structure) from the trilayer to the single-layer sublattices and this effect will be enhanced by overall electron doping. Moreover, we find a leading d x 2 -y 2 -wave pairing state that is restricted to the single layer. Because the effective coupling between the single layers is very weak, due to the nonsuperconducting trilayer in-between, this suggests that the superconducting transition temperature T c in this structure should be much lower than in the bilayer structure.

Complete β-decay patterns of 142 Cs, 142 Ba, and 142 La determined using total absorption spectroscopy

Background: The β decays of fission products produced in nuclear fuel are important for nuclear energy applications and fundamental science of reactor antineutrinos. In particular, nuclear reactor safety is related to the decay modes of radioactive neutron-rich nuclei, primarily via the emission of γ rays, neutrons, and electrons. Additionally nuclear reactors are the most powerful man-made source of antineutrinos emitted during the β decay of fission products. These antineutrinos are used to inspect fundamental properties of leptons as well as informing reactor operation. However, the majority of data on complex decays of fission products collected in the evaluated nuclear data repositories like Evaluated Nuclear Structure Data File (ENSDF) and Evaluated Nuclear Data Files (ENDF) are based on low-efficiency and often incomplete measurements resulting in questionable reference reactor antineutrino flux predictions, see the analysis by [Nichols, J. Nucl. Sci. Technol. 52, 17 (2015)]. Various assessments like the one done under the auspices of the [Yoshida et al., Assessment of Fission Product Decay Data for Decay Heat Calculations: A report by the Working Party on International Evaluation Co-operation of the Nuclear Energy Agency Nuclear Science Committee (Nuclear Energy Agency, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, Paris, France, 2007), Vol. 25], as well as by [Sonzogni, Johnson, and McCutchan, Phys. Rev. C 91, 011301(R) (2015)] and [Dwyer and Langford, Phys. Rev. Lett. 114, 012502 (2015)], list the A = 142 isobars with high cumulative fission yield among the important nuclei where data for reactor decay heat and/or antineutrino production should be verified and/or improved. Purpose: Here, our goal is to improve the quality of β -decay measurements and evaluate the impact of modified decay schemes on reactor decay heat and antineutrino energy spectra, for fission products along the A = 142 isobaric chain. This work is an in depth follow-up on [Rasco et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 117, 092501 (2016)]. which presented briefly the impact of the corrected decay scheme of 142 Cs . Here, we extend the data to full isobaric decay chain including the daughter nuclei, 142 Ba and 142 La, and present more details on the 142 Cs results. Method: The decays of neutron-rich isobars of mass A = 142 produced by means of proton-induced fission of 238 U were measured using the Modular Total Absorption Spectrometer (MTAS) array on-line at the mass separator and Tandem accelerator at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Results: The β -decay schemes for 142 Cs and 142 La were modified with respect to the nuclear data repositories. A small β-delayed neutron branching ratio for 142 Cs emitter was remeasured as $0.10^{+5}_{–3}% %. Improved precision on the measured half-lives is reported. Small corrections to the low-energy decay of 142 Ba are made. The β-decay patterns for 142 La and 142 Cs are presented. The decay heat release and cross section for the detection of reactor antineutrinos are deduced and compared to earlier results. Conclusions: The β-feeding pattern for 142 Cs having decay energy value $Q_β$ of over 7 MeV was substantially modified with respect to the current ENSDF entry. Smaller changes were encountered for 142 La, but since this A = 142 isobar also has a large cumulative yield in fission, the changes influence both decay heat and the antineutrino spectra. The previously known β intensities for 142 Ba decay ($Q_β$ value of 2.2 MeV) were verified and slightly modified. Overall, increased decay heat values and lower flux of antineutrinos interacting with matter are presented.

Iridium valence variation and carrier sign tuning in ( Ca , Ba ) x La 2 – x CuIrO 6 double perovskites

Here, we report the structure and properties of ( Ca , Ba ) x La 2 – x CuIrO 6 . The rock-salt double perovskite structure goes through a P 1 ¯ to P 2 1 / n phase transition with increasing Ba content but not with Ca content. In both cases, the Ir ion is oxidized from 4 + to 5 + with increasing substitution. Transport and magnetic properties measurements reveal that all compositions are insulating with hysteretic spin-freezing magnetic behavior. Seebeck coefficient measurements reveal a large thermopower change from + 176 μ V /K in La 2 CuIrO 6 to – 223 μ V /K with increasing Ba content in Ba x La 2 – x CuIrO 6 . This behavior is modeled well by the Heikes formula for correlated hopping conduction. ( Ca , Ba ) x La 2 – x CuIrO 6 provides a model system for investigations of other systems with similar carrier sign tuning, with applications toward semiconductors and thermoelectric materials.

Understanding the Degradation of La 1−x Sr x FeO 3−δ (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) Perovskite Oxides during the Oxygen Evolution Reaction in Alkaline Solution

Perovskite oxides are an emerging class of highly active catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER); however, their electrochemical stability remains poorly understood. Here, we report a systematic evaluation of the OER activity and stability of La 1−x Sr x FeO 3-δ perovskites in 1 M KOH. Their initial OER activity first increases with increasing Sr content (fromx= 0 to 0.8), and then decreases when the Sr content is increased to 1. Their stability evaluated by monitoring the element leaching from the electrodes show that La does not leach at a detectable rate, but Sr and Fe leach substantially. The leaching of Sr occurs at similar rates under open circuit potential (OCP) and OER potential, suggesting a nonelectrochemical dissolution process. The leaching of Fe is, however, strongly dependent on the electrode potential. More Fe leaching is observed under the OER potential than OCP. Additionally, the electrode with higher initial OER activity leaches more Fe. These results indicate that OER facilitates the dissolution of Fe from the electrode. The leaching of Fe, in turn, is considered responsible for the activity loss of La 1-x Sr x FeO 3−δ during OER. This study brings new insight into the degradation mechanism of La 1-x Sr x FeO 3−δ and their related perovskite oxides during electro-oxidation processes.

Thermodynamic Modeling of Point Defects in Triple Conducting Perovskite Ba 0.95 La 0.05 FeO 3- $_δ$ with Incorporation of the Hydride Defect Formation Reaction for Solid Oxide Cells

Distinct from the proton defect, the hydride defect species may be present in certain perovskite materials in reducing environments such as in fuel electrodes of solid oxide cells (SOCs) or on the reducing side of ceramic membranes. A generalized defect thermodynamic model was developed for the triple-conducting perovskites (La,Ba)Fe 1-x M x O 3-δ (M = Y and Zr) to allow inclusion of the hydride defect formation reaction in addition to the other three main defect reactions, namely, the oxygen vacancy formation, hydration, and charge disproportionation reactions. This comprehensive defect model also allows the incorporation of polynomial functional forms of oxygen nonstoichiometry δ to describe the defect reaction energies and entropies and to enable refinements of the defect reaction equilibrium constants in the defect thermodynamic analysis. As a first step, the developed model is applied to the Ba 0.95 La 0.05 FeO 3-δ material as an illustrative system to obtain its Brouwer diagrams with both the proton and hydride defects in relevant SOC conditions, particularly for more reducing environments. In conclusion, the results provide direct guidance on the influence of electronic and ionic defect concentrations upon thermodynamic properties and ultimately on the performance of Ba 0.95 La 0.05 FeO 3-δ and potentially other (La,Ba)Fe 1-x M x O 3-δ perovskite materials involved in SOC applications.

Tailoring the Radionuclide Encapsulation and Surface Chemistry of La(223Ra)VO4 Nanoparticles for Targeted Alpha Therapy

The development of targeted alpha therapy (TAT) as a viable cancer treatment requires innovative solutions to challenges associated with radionuclide retention to enhance local tumor cytotoxicity and to minimize off-target effects. Nanoparticles (NPs) with high encapsulation and high retention of radionuclides have shown potential in overcoming these issues. This article shows the influence of pH on the structure of lanthanum vanadate (LaVO4) NPs and its impact on the radiochemical yield of 223Ra and subsequent retention of its decay daughters, 211Pb and 211Bi. An acidic pH (4.9) results in a high fraction of La(223Ra)VO4 NPs with tetragonal structure (44.6–66.1%) and a 223Ra radiochemical yield <40%. Adjusting the pH to 11 yields >80% of La(223Ra)VO4 NPs with monoclinic structure and increases the 223Ra radiochemical yield >85%. The leakage of decay daughters from La(223Ra)VO4 NPs (pH 11) was <5% and <0.5% when exposed to deionized water and phosphate-buffered saline, respectively. Altering the surface chemistry of La(223Ra)VO4 NPs with carboxylate and phosphate compounds resulted in a threefold decrease in hydrodynamic diameter and a 223Ra radiochemical yield between 74.7% and 99.6%. These results show the importance of tailoring the synthesis parameters and surface chemistry of LaVO4 NPs to obtain high encapsulation and retention of radionuclides.

Theoretical study of the bonding of Sc, Y, and La singly charged and dipositive ions to C2H2, C2H4, and C3H6

The interaction of the Sc and Y singly-charged and dipositive ions with C2H2, C2H4, and C3H6 is studied using electronic structure calculations that include high levels of electron correlation. These results are compared with comparable calculations performed previously for La(+) and La(2+). For C2H2 and C2H4, all three metal ions insert into the C-C pi bond, making a three-membered ring. The optimal structures for the MC3H6(+) ions all involve rearrangement to make a four-membered ring. The strength of the metal-ligand bond for the singly charged ions follows the order La greater than Sc equal to about Y. In contrast, the bonds involving the dipositive ions are electrostatic, so that the binding energy increases as the size of the ion decreases, leading to the trend Sc greater than Y greater than La.

Thermal Analysis, Compressibility, and Decomposition of Synthetic Bastnäsite-(La) to Lanthanum Oxyfluoride

Understanding basic material properties of rare earth element (REE) bearing minerals such as their phase stability and equations of state can assist in understanding how economically viable deposits might form. Bastnäsite is the most commonly mined REE bearing mineral. We synthesized the lanthanum-fluoride end member, bastnäsite-(La) (LaCO3F), and investigated its thermal behavior and decomposition products from 298 K to 1173 K under ambient pressure conditions through thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, evolved gas analysis, and high temperature powder X-ray diffraction. We also investigated the compressibility of bastnäsite-(La) via single crystal X-ray diffraction in diamond anvil cells at an ambient temperature up to 11.3 GPa and from 4.9 GPa to 7.7 GPa up to 673 K. At ambient pressure, bastnäsite-(La) was stable up to 598 K in air, where it decomposed into CO2 and tetragonal γ-LaOF. Above 948 K, cubic α-LaOF is stable. High temperature X-ray diffraction data were used to fit the Fei thermal equation of state and the thermal expansion coefficient α(sub 298) for all three materials. Bastnäsite-(La) was fit from 298 K to 723 K with V(sub 0) = 439.82 Å(exp 3), α(sub 298) = 4.32 × 10(exp -5) K(exp -1), a(sub 0) = −1.68 × 10(exp -5) K(exp -1), a(sub 1) = 8.34 × 10(exp -8) K(exp -1), and a(sub 2) = 3.126 K(exp -1). Tetragonal γ-LaOF was fit from 723 K to 948 K with V(sub 0) = 96.51 Å(exp 3), α(sub 298) = 2.95×10(exp -4) K(exp -1), a(sub 0) = −2.41×10(exp -5) K(exp -1), a(sub 1) = 2.42×10(exp -7) K(exp -1), and a(sub 2) = 41.147 K(exp -1). Cubic α-LaOF was fit from 973 K to 1123 K with V(sub 0) = 190.71 Å(exp 3), α(sub 298) = −1.12×10(exp -5) K(exp -1), a(sub 0) = 2.36×10(exp -4) K(exp -1), a(sub 1) = −1.73 × 10(exp -7) K(exp -1), and a(sub 2) = −17.362 K(exp -1). An ambient temperature third order Birch–Murnaghan equation of state was fit with V(sub 0) = 439.82 Å(exp 3), K(sub 0) = 105 GPa, and K’ = 5.58.

The Impact and Recovery of Asteroid 2018 LA

The June 2, 2018 impact of asteroid 2018 LA over Botswana is only the second asteroid detected in space prior to impacting over land. Here, we report on the successful recovery of meteorites. Additional astrometric data refine the approach orbit and define the spin period and shape of the asteroid. Video observations of the fireball constrain the asteroid's position in its orbit and were used to triangulate the location of the fireball's main flare over the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Twenty-three meteorites were recovered. A consortium study of eight of these classifies Motopi Pan as an HED polymict breccia derived from howardite, cumulate and basaltic eucrite, and diogenite lithologies. Before impact, 2018 LA was a solid rock of ~156 cm diameter with high bulk density ~2.85 g cm^(−3), a relatively low albedo pV ~ 0.25, no significant opposition effect on the asteroid brightness, and an impact kinetic energy of ~0.2 kt. The orbit of 2018 LA is consistent with an origin at Vesta (or its Vestoids) and delivery into an Earth-impacting orbit via the ν6 resonance. The impact that ejected 2018 LA in an orbit toward Earth occurred 22.8 ± 3.8 Ma ago. Zircons record a concordant U-Pb age of 4563 ± 11 Ma and a consistent 207Pb/206Pb age of 4563 ± 6 Ma. A much younger Pb-Pb phosphate resetting age of 4234 ± 41 Ma was found. From this impact chronology, we discuss what is the possible source crater of Motopi Pan and the age of Vesta's Veneneia impact basin.
