The development of a time series of global atmospheric motion and mass fields through April 1984 to compare with changes in length of day and polar motion was investigated. Earth rotation was studied and the following topics are discussed: (1) computation of atmospheric angular momentum through April 1984; (2) comparisons of psi sub values with variations in length of day obtained by several groups utilizing B.I.H., lunar laser ranging, VLBI, or Lageos measurements; (3) computation of atmospheric excitation of polar motion using daily fields of atmospheric winds and pressures for a short test period. Daily calculations may be extended over a longer period to examine the forcing of the annual and Chandler wobbles, in addition to higher frequency nutations.
This video shows how space derived technology is being used to benefit people on Earth.
Electric propulsion engine research from the 1960's is reviewed. Also, a 1987 look at exploring Mars.
The objective of this program is to address safety and reliability issues of complete wiring systems. The plans for carrying out the objective include the following: determine the wiring system design factors; investigate circuit protection technologies; and address manufacturing and maintenance procedures.
This document specifies a subset of an existing product data exchange specification that is widely used in industry and government. The existing document is called the Initial Graphics Exchange Specification. This document, a subset of IGES, is intended for engineers analyzing product performance using tools such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software. This document specifies how to define mathematically and exchange the geometric model of an object. The geometry is represented utilizing nonuniform rational B-splines (NURBS) curves and surfaces. Only surface models are represented; no solid model representation is included. This specification does not include most of the other types of product information available in IGES (e.g., no material properties or surface finish properties) and does not provide all the specific file format details of IGES. The data exchange protocol specified in this document is fully conforming to the American National Standard (ANSI) IGES 5.2.
This supplement to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) is divided into the following sections: General, Competition and Acquisition Planning, Contracting Methods and Contract Types, Socioeconomic Programs, General Contracting Requirements, Special Categories of Contracting, Contract Management, Clauses and Forms, and Agency Supplementary Regulations.
