The investigation reported continues a study conducted by Tera et al. (1974). An attempt is made to summarize all of the data currently available in the literature on terra materials and to discuss the implications of the upper intersection with the concordia curve. Data on total rocks and some plagioclase separates are presented in a graph. The data appear to give further support to a model of a terminal lunar cataclysm associated with intense global bombardment at about 3.9 aeons.
This paper discusses measurements of the energetic-particle population inside Jupiter's magnetosphere as well as observations of energetic particles in interplanetary space that have escaped from that magnetosphere. The discussion is based on Pioneer 10 data obtained when the spacecraft was outside the bow shock but within about 1 AU of the planet and on electron data obtained near earth by various IMP spacecraft. Pioneer 10 particle measurements in the Jovian magnetosphere are reviewed, the differential proton and electron energy spectra are described, and it is suggested that very little particle acceleration occurs in the outer magnetosphere. Additional data are examined in regard to Jovian alpha particles, proton and electron angular distributions, protons in the inner magnetosphere, effects of Io on the proton flux, electron acceleration outside the bow shock, and observations of Jovian electrons near earth. All these data are shown to support the conclusion that most, if not all, quiet-time increases in low-energy electron fluxes near earth are of Jovian origin.

It is found that Apollo 11 low-K and in particular Apollo 17 mare basalts show a wide range of Th/U ratios unlike other rocks; such variations cannot be explained by near surface crystal fractionation. A two-stage fractional crystallization-partial melting model involving a clinopyroxene cumulate as the major phase can explain the variations in Th/U ratios. Due to the Sm-Nd systematics constraint, several source cumulates are invoked to explain the observed Th/U continuum.

A set of standard CAMAC modules for Spacelab payloads is being developed by NASA. A crate controller, a processor module, memory modules and a databus to connect them are being developed at the Goddard Space Flight Center. These components will provide for the implementation of CAMAC data systems ranging in complexity from fixed-format, single-crate data collection systems not requiring a processor to a multi-crate data system, including several computers (processors). The Spacelab CAMAC data system is introduced with the role of the crate controller described. The implementation and operation of the crate controller is described. The instruction set of the crate controller is also presented.

The quenching role of the UF6 in noble gas nuclear pumped lasers is examined. Detailed results are presented for He-UF6-Xe system. These results indicate that depletion of the atomic ion is the mechanism responsible for the observed behavior. Based on this it is concluded that UF6 is not compatible with noble gas lasers but should be compatible with molecular lasers.
