Twisted perovskite layers come together

The realization of twisted ligand-free two-dimensional halide perovskite-based moiré superlattices enables twistronic control of exciton dynamics in these systems and brings stimulating implications towards the development of halide perovskite photonic devices.

Analysis of wind-tunnel boundary-layer transition experiments on axisymmetric bodies at transonic speeds using compressible boundary-layer stability theory

The design of laminar flow fuselages and advanced swept wings at high-subsonic compressible speeds can benefit from a correlation of compressible transition experiments with the e exp n transition-prediction method. A computational analysis has been conducted to investigate the detailed transition measurements obtained by Boltz et al. (1956, 1960) for two bodies-of-revolution. Nonadiabatic wall conditions were included in the analysis when wall-temperature measurements were available.

Subharmonic Route to Boundary-Layer Transition - Critical Layer Nonlinearity

The linear and nonlinear dynamics of a triad of initially linear stability waves comprising a single plane wave at fundamental frequency and two symmetric oblique waves with half the frequency and streamwise wave number of the plane wave are presented. Analysis is performed for the initial nonlinear development of the waves where the order of the oblique waves' amplitude is equal to or less than that of the plane wave. Results show that the fundamental basically follows the linear theory, while the subharmonic follows an exponential-of-an-exponential growth.
