Systems and methods are disclosed that include tools that utilize Dynamic Detector Tuning (DDT) software that identifies near-optimal parameter settings for each sensor using a neuro-dynamic programming (reinforcement learning) paradigm. DDT adapts parameter values to the current state of the environment by leveraging cooperation within a neighborhood of sensors. The key metric that guides the dynamic tuning is consistency of each sensor with its nearest neighbors: parameters are automatically adjusted on a per station basis to be more or less sensitive to produce consistent agreement of detections in its neighborhood. The DDT algorithm adapts in near real-time to changing conditions in an attempt to automatically self-tune a signal detector to identify (detect) only signals from events of interest. The disclosed systems and methods reduce the number of missed legitimate detections and the number of false detections, resulting in improved event detection.
Autonomous wireless sensors in subsurface environments can be charged while present in the subsurface environment to allow the sensors to measure and wirelessly transmit measurements. The sensors rely upon a contrast agent to provide a power flow path to the sensors.
Systems and methods for classifying materials utilizing one or more sensor systems, which may implement a machine learning system in order to identify or classify each of the materials, which may then be sorted into separate groups based on such an identification or classification. The machine learning system may utilize a neural network, and be previously trained to recognize and classify certain types of materials.
Computer program SUFFER for console execution of utility programs on IBM S/360 computer
Computer program calculates actual and useable remaining propellant quantities as required in positive expulsion rocket engine propellant feed system. Program establishes relationship between helium system pressures and temperatures and propellant weight remaining in tanks. Program is written in FORTRAN 4 for IBM-360 computer.
Computer programs for computing Gaussian quadrature abscissas and weights are described. For the classical case the programs use Laguerre iteration to compute abscissas as zeros of orthogonal polynomials. The polynomials are evaluated from known recursion coefficients. The nonclassical case is handled similarly except that the recursion coefficients are computed by numerical integration. A sample problem, with input and output, is presented to illustrate the use of the programs. It computes the quadrature abscissas and weights associated with the weight function over the interval (0,1) for quadrature orders from 16 to 96 in increments of 8.
Computer program provides time history of sun aspect angles as seen from spacecraft and generates binary tape containing time history of position, velocity, and body attitude angles of vehicle in local horizontal, local vertical system. Program is written in FORTRAN 5 and SLEUTH 2 for Univac 1108 computer.
Computer programs for the design of analog and digital flight control systems are documented. The program DIGADAPT uses linear-quadratic-gaussian synthesis algorithms in the design of command response controllers and state estimators, and it applies covariance propagation analysis to the selection of sampling intervals for digital systems. Program SCHED executes correlation and regression analyses for the development of gain and trim schedules to be used in open-loop explicit-adaptive control laws. A linear-time-varying simulation of aircraft motions is provided by the program TVHIS, which includes guidance and control logic, as well as models for control actuator dynamics. The programs are coded in FORTRAN and are compiled and executed on both IBM and CDC computers.
Computer program predicts electrostatic charging of three dimensional, conducting object partially or completely covered with dielectric films. Program is useful in describing spacecraft charging and material accumulation in plasma environment of magnetosphere. Numerous graphic outputs are implemented. Language is FORTRAN V, for batch execution on 1100-series computer.
Computer program GENOPTICS is generalized aid for analysis and evaluation of optical systems that employ lenses, mirrors, diffraction gratings, and other geometrical optical surfaces. It can exactly trace up to 800 rays through as many as 40 surfaces. Results can be used to compute third order aberation coefficients including spheric contributions.
Computer program calculates neutron or gamma ray first order scattering from a plane or cylindrical surface to a detector point. The SAP Codes, G-SAP and N-SAP, constitute a multiple scatter albedo model shield analysis.
