The impact of gigabit networking with Myrinet 2000 hardware and MPICH-GM software on a 2-way SMP Beowulf-class cluster for parallel unstructured adaptive mesh refinement using the PYRAMID library is described.
Optical parallel processors have the potential for aiding the transfer of information over networks.
A parallel implementation of the finite volume method for three-dimensional, time-dependent, thermal convective flows is presented.
Concatenated coding schemes with interleavers consist of the combination of two simple constituent encoders and an interleaver. The parallel concatenation known as.
Parallel computation for two-dimensional convective flows in.
An iterative solver for use with finite element codes was developed for the Cray T3D massively parallel processor at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Finite element modeling is useful for simulating scattered or radiated electromagnetic fields from complex three-dimensional objects with geometry variations smaller than an electrical wavelength.
A parallel algorithm for 3D FFTs is implemented as a series of local 1D FFTs combined with data transposes. This allows the use of vendor supplied (often fully optimized) sequential 1D FFTs. The FFTs are carried out in-place by using an in-place data transpose across the processors.
This paper presents a unified and efficient method of solving the inverse kinematics for 6 d.o.f. serial connections of two 3 d.o.f. serial and parallel manipulators.
Evolutionary partial differential equations are usually solved by decretization in time and space, and by applying a marching in time procedure to data and algorithms potentially parallelized in the spatial domain.
This paper uses the parallel calculation of the radiation integral for examination of performance and compiler issues on a Beowulf-class computer. This type of computer, built from mass-market, commodity, off-the-shelf components, has limited communications performance and therefore also has a limited regime of codes for which it is suitable.
Matpar is a set of client/server software that allows a MATLAB user to take advantage of a parallel computer for very large problems. The user can replace calls to certain built-in MATLAB functions with calls to Matpar functions.
Parallel algorithms for solution of time-dependent partial differential equations (PDEs) are developed.
Simple Skeleton Particle-in-Cell codes designed for massively parallel computers are described.
This paper investigates the closed-loop dynamics of systems controlled via parallel estimators. This structure arises in formation flying problems when each spacecraft bases its control action on an internal estimate of the complete formation state. For LTI systems a separation principle shows that the necessary and sufficient conditions for overall system stability are more stringent than the single controller case; the controllers' open-loop dynamics necessarily appear in the closed-loop dynamics. Communication amongst the spacecraft can be used to specify the complete system dynamics and a framework for integrating the design of the communication links into the formation flying control design problem is presented.
