New pair style for molecular dynamics package LAMMPS

This pair style will enable molecular dynamics simulations of hydrogen interaction with Fe-C steels. No such simulations are possible without such a pair style. This is significant because Fe-C steels are the most commonly used steels and improving their resistance to hydrogen embrittlement has attracted wide interests. Behavior Engine - Umbra Package

The Umbra Behavior Engine allows simulated Umbra characters to autonomously make decisions to accomplish goals set for them in a specific scenario. These goals are based on commands given to characters and reactions to stimuli in the simulated environment of the characters. When the character responds to the command issued to him, instead of running a single behavior, he runs a suite of behaviors where only one is active at a time. Other behaviors in the suite include reaction behaviors that can be triggered due to detected objects and activity in the characters' environment. MatLab Package for Whispering Gallery Mode Data

Dye-doped whispering gallery mode resonator (WGMR) microspheres yield highly structured emission spectra that are extremely sensitive to their environment and are of intense interest for use in a variety of sensing applications. Efforts to leverage the unique sensitivities of WGMRs have relied on stringent experimental requirements to correlate specific spectral shifts/changes to an analyte/stimulus such as 1) precise positional knowledge, 2) reference spectra for each microsphere, and 3) high mechanical stability. Consequently, these can hinder adequate mixing or incorporation of analytes and creates challenges for remote sensing. The MATLAB codes provided here are to be used in conjunction with a continuous flow technique for measuring WGM spectra of dye-doped microspheres suspended in solution. One MATLAB script, smooths the data, automatically baseline corrects it to isolate the whispering gallery modes (WGM) from the unwanted bulk emission, and assesses the similarity of each spectrum to aid in selecting a set of unique WGM spectra for further analysis. The next script is designed to analyze WGM spectra to determine the size of the resonator and the refractive index (RI) of its local environment without a priori knowledge of the individual microsphere. The final script allows the user to cluster spheres based on the product of their RI and radius and the contrast ratio of the RI of the sphere material and that of its environment by using a shared nearest neighbor spectral clustering algorithm.

Haxall-based (Axon) fault auto-correction package for building HVAC system (Haxall-based Fault Correction) v1.0

Haxall-based Fault Correction is a set of fault auto-correction algorithms implemented using the Axon language. These algorithms can automatically fix equipment and control problems as they arise and improve the operation of building Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems. The coded auto-correction algorithms include mitigation of rogue zones, ASHRAE Guideline 36 static pressure and supply air reset, resolution of control hunting due to improper settings in a proportional-integral-derivative controller, correction of biased temperature sensors, etc. FDD tools with enhanced auto-correction capability can resolve control problems as they are detected, increasing energy savings and emissions reductions while freeing up operational staff expertise for the hardest facility problems.

Quantum Network Repeater Simulation Package (QNPack) v1.0.0

Existing quantum network testbeds and prototypes are typically implemented in laboratory experiments with limited functionality and operate in a tightly coupled manner. These characteristics make it difficult to evaluate the behavior of emerging quantum platforms and protocols beyond local resource limitations. The QNPack software enables full-stack modeling of quantum repeater networks that allows researchers to simulate new approaches, and understand emergent behaviors, from local to national scales. Novel capabilities include: (1) performant and accurate quantum models that can be executed as independent simulations, which will allow users to characterize specific analog quantum processes, quantum devices, and protocols, (2) a modular and extensible approach to the simulation architecture to accommodate new quantum technologies, protocols, and topologies as they are developed across the quantum repeater generations under evaluation, and (3) a focus on managing the interactions between the simulation framework sub-components so that they may be re-used and composed in flexible ways.

CHMMPY: A python package for constrained Hidden Markov Models

SAND2025-11909O chmmpy software analyzes multivariate timeseries data to detect patterns. It uses a Hidden Markov Model (HMM) and application-specific constraints that reflect known relationships among hidden states to accomplish this. The chmmpy software provides a generic framework for expressing application-specific constraints and supporting constrained HMM inference using optimization solvers. chmmpy is available on GitHub. Modeling of the TRIGA IPR-R1 research reactor with the Serpent2/RINNOVO Nodal core analysis package

The Serpent2/RINNOVO nodal core analysis code system, a dedicated tool for modeling research reactors, has the capability to accurately predict important core physics parameters involved in the safety of reactor operation, such as various reactivity coefficients, control rod and bank worths including the shutdown margin, power distributions as well as local neutron flux predictions at various core locations of high importance, e.g., at irradiation rigs. In this work, a hexagonal model of the unrodded initial core of the Brazilian IPR-R1 Mark I type TRIGA nuclear reactor has been created using the Serpent2/RINNOVO code system. The choice of employing a hexagonal core geometry representation has mainly been made to facilitate subsequent fuel shuffling operations and core follow calculations of this reactor. Numerical results in terms of the core eigenvalue and the assembly power distribution have then been compared against corresponding full core Serpent2 results to prove feasibility of using the Serpent2/RINNOVO code system for modeling small and highly heterogeneous TRIGA reactors. Overall, RINNOVO predicts the power distribution very accurately but the eigenvalue error still remains quite large. In light of being the very first evaluation of a TRIGA reactor with the RINNOVO nodal core simulator, these results are also considered to be very preliminary. Improved accuracy is expected by incorporating a proper methodology in the current code system for computing discontinuity factors for multi-assembly configurations. Furthermore, improved results are expected by increasing the number of energy groups used by RINNOVO in these core calculations.

ESS-DIVE Reporting Format for Dataset Package Metadata

ESS-DIVE’s (Environmental Systems Science Data Infrastructure for a Virtual Ecosystem) dataset metadata reporting format is intended to compile information about a dataset (e.g., title, description, funding sources) that can enable reuse of data submitted to the ESS-DIVE data repository. The files contained in this dataset include instructions (dataset_metadata_guide.md and README.md) that can be used to understand the types of metadata ESS-DIVE collects. The data dictionary (dd.csv) follows ESS-DIVE’s file-level metadata reporting format and includes brief descriptions about each element of the dataset metadata reporting format. This dataset also includes a terminology crosswalk (dataset_metadata_crosswalk.csv) that shows how ESS-DIVE’s metadata reporting format maps onto other existing metadata standards and reporting formats.Data contributors to ESS-DIVE can provide this metadata by manual entry using a web form or programmatically via ESS-DIVE’s API (Application Programming Interface). A metadata template (dataset_metadata_template.docx or dataset_metadata_template.pdf) can be used to collaboratively compile metadata before providing it to ESS-DIVE.Since being incorporated into ESS-DIVE’s data submission user interface, ESS-DIVE’s dataset metadata reporting format, has enabled features like automated metadata quality checks, and dissemination of ESS-DIVE datasets onto other data platforms including Google Dataset Search and DataCite.
