The author has identified the following significant results. Automatic photointerpretation techniques were utilized to evaluate the feasibility of data for land use management. It was shown that ERTS-1 MSS data can produce thematic maps of adequate resolution and accuracy to update land use maps. In particular, five typical land use areas were mapped with classification accuracies ranging from 77% to over 90%.

Aerial photographs of the entire state were used to develop information on geomorphic regions, land ownership, forest cover, soils, geology, land classification and land capability. LANDSAT imagery was included to update many photomaps for land use classification and urban development planning.
The author has identified the following significant results. The shape, pattern, and extent of surface water (e.g. lakes) can be readily mapped. Comparing detailed maps of several lakes in Itasca County with the areas classified as water by the LANDSAT data shows that some lakes have changed considerably since they were mapped. Due to several droughts this year (1976), the water level in most lakes has dropped. At this time, it seems feasible that LANDSAT digital tape data estimate lake water level change, due to the 1976 drought conditions.

Partial space heating for 97,000 square foot plant is supplied by 360 flat plate solar collectors; energy is sorted as heat in indoor 20,000 gallon water tank. System includes all necessary control electronics for year round operation. During December 1978, solar energy supplied 24.4 percent of building's space heating load.
Report presents installer guidelines for network subsystems, including filling and testing. Information on operating procedures, controls, caution requirements, and routine scheduled maintenance is included as written procedures, schematics, detailed drawings, and manufacturer's component data.
The solar heating system for space heating a 97,000 square foot building which houses administrative offices, assembly areas, and warehouse space is summarized. Information on system description, test data, major problems and resolutions, performance, operation and maintenance manual, manufacturer's literature, and as-built drawings is presented.

The state crop calendars for the principal spring wheat producing states within the United States are presented. These crop calendars are an update of those produced for the large area crop inventory experiment multilabeling task during 1978and are compiled for the foreign commodity production forecasting (FCPF) project of the agriculture and resources inventory surveys through aerospace remote sensing program.
