Weighted Average Percentage Change of Quantifiable Parameters for Wireless and Wired Manufacturing Networks [Slides]

Main task was to create a deliverable (report) calculating the amount of efficiency that could be acquired with the implementation of Wireless manufacturing. A methodology was defined to combine and compare different quantifiable parameters. The relevance of this data is to demonstrate the effects that wireless connections could have when implemented. This was demonstrated with published industry data.

Weighted Average Percentage Change of Quantifiable Parameters for Wireless and Wired Manufacturing Networks

In industry, companies are constantly trying to boost - the efficiency of their industrial production, and several of these companies have implemented Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) to increase their efficiency. This research concentrates on looking at different referring papers in an attempt to quantify the amount of efficiency or change in values of different parameters to measure the overall impact produced by implementing wireless service in the manufacturing plant. The results found were that implementing wireless connections, and in most cases, Wi-Fi, might produce efficiencies normally ranging from 17%-34% depending on what each industry weighted or prioritized. These percentage changes could be used to decide if implementing wireless manufacturing is soluble, or if it might not be necessary at this moment. The amount of percentage change differs from place to place, yet a general way of averaging the changes brought by wireless is discussed and calculated.

Metal-Tipped and Electrochemically Wired Semiconductor Nanocrystals: Modular Constructs for Directed Charge Transfer

In our 2017 proposal to the Solar Photochemistry division of DOE/BES/Office of Science we targeted the creation, characterization and integratation of new II-IV semiconductor heterostructured nanomaterials into ultra-thin film (tethered) nanocrystalline arrays on transparent metal oxide (TCO) supports. Materials were to include CdSe quantum dots (QDs), asymmetric CdSe@CdS tetrapods (TPs) and CdSe@CdS nanorods (NRs), into unique photoelectrochemical platforms. The ultimate goal was to tether these new nanomaterials to either electron- or hole-selective oxide interlayers that would afford vectoral photo-induced charge transfer and ultimately formation of molecular products such as H 2 . This was an ambitious set of goals but integrated well with our previous work in this general area.

Production of Precursor Materials for the Development of Iron-Based Superconductor (IBS) Wire

The objective of the activities under this Annex is to address the extrinsic Jc limitations uncovered in pioneering work. In order to engineer the defects pinning landscape charged particle irradiations experiments on bulk samples, different doping and chemical additions will be performed at different National facilities (Test Beam Facility at Fermilab; Linac Isotope Producer at Brookhaven National Laboratory; Integrated Biology Laboratory at University of Wisconsin-Madison; Facility for Rare Isotope Beams at Michigan State University). The samples will be produced at ENEA by different techniques. Magnetization and advanced microscopy measures will be performed at Fermilab. After irradiation, depending on the level of radioactivity, the samples will be tested at Fermilab or where it is possible to measure radioactive materials as University of Wisconsin-Madison.
