Relating β' * and γ' Q * in the $\mathcal{N}$=1 SQCD conformal window

In this paper we show that β' * , the β-function slopes in the electric and magnetic theories, are equal at the corresponding infrared fixed points. This follows from the scaling of the correlators of the trace of the energy momentum tensors. The slopes β' * determine the scaling dimensions. Our paper can be considered as a commentary to D. Anselmi, M. T. Grisaru, and A. Johansen [Nucl. Phys. B491, 221 (1997)]; it proposes an improved derivation not based on a rather contrived construction by D. Kutasov [Phys. Lett. B 351, 230 (1995)], D. Kutasov and A. Schwimmer [Phys. Lett. B 354, 315 (1995)], and D. Kutasov, A. Schwimmer, and N. Seiberg, [Nucl. Phys. B459, 455 (1996)]. As a byproduct we note that γ' Q * —the slopes of the matter superfield anomalous dimension—vanish at both edges of the conformal window where one of the dual theories is strongly coupled. Finally, we determine the two-coupling magnetic fixed point at weak coupling correcting the result of I. I. Kogan, M. A. Shifman, and A. I. Vainshtein [Phys. Rev. D 53, 4526 (1996); Phys. Rev. D59, 109903(E) (1999)].

Generalized Ginsparg-Wilson relations

We give a general derivation of Ginsparg-Wilson relations for both Dirac and Majorana fermions in any dimension. These relations encode continuous and discrete chiral, parity and time-reversal anomalies and will apply to the various classes of free-fermion topological insulators and superconductors (in the framework of a relativistic quantum field theory in Euclidean spacetime). We show how to formulate the exact symmetries of the lattice action and the relevant index theorems for the anomalies. Published by the American Physical Society 2024

Operator product expansion for radial lattice quantization of 3D ϕ 4 theory

At its critical point, the three-dimensional lattice Ising model is described by a conformal field theory (CFT), the 3D Ising CFT. Instead of carrying out simulations on Euclidean lattices, we use the quantum finite elements method to implement radially quantized critical ϕ 4 theory on simplicial lattices approaching R × S 2 . Computing the four-point function of identical scalars, we demonstrate the power of radial quantization by the accurate determination of the scaling dimensions Δ ε and Δ T as well as ratios of the operator product expansion coefficients f σ σ ε and f σ σ T of the first spin-0 and spin-2 primary operators ε and T of the 3D Ising CFT. Two-fermion negativity and confinement in the Schwinger model

We consider the fermionic (logarithmic) negativity between two fermionic modes in the Schwinger model. Recent results pointed out that fermionic systems can exhibit stronger entanglement than bosonic systems, exhibiting a negativity that decays only algebraically. The Schwinger model is described by fermionic excitations at short distances, while its asymptotic spectrum is the one of a bosonic theory. We show that the two-mode negativity detects this confining, fermion-to-boson transition, shifting from an algebraic decay to an exponential decay at distances of the order of the de Broglie wavelength of the first excited state. We derive analytical expressions in the massless Schwinger model and confront them with tensor network simulations. We also perform tensor network simulations in the massive model, which is not solvable analytically, and close to the Ising quantum critical point of the Schwinger model, where we show that the negativity behaves as its bosonic counterpart. Collins-Soper kernel in the QCD instanton vacuum

We outline a general framework for evaluating the nonperturbative soft functions in the quantum chromodynamics (QCD) instanton vacuum. In particular, from the soft function we derive the Collins-Soper (CS) kernel, which drives the rapidity evolution of the transverse-momentum-dependent parton distributions. The resulting CS kernel, when supplemented with the perturbative contribution, agrees well with recent lattice results and some phenomenological parametrizations. Moreover, our CS kernel depends logarithmically on the large quark transverse separation, providing a key constraint on its phenomenological parametrization. Finally, a lattice calculation can be directly compared to our generic results in Euclidean signature, thus providing a new approach for evalulating the soft function and extracting the CS kernel by analytical continuation.

QCD moat regime and its real-time properties

Dense quantum chromodynamics (QCD) matter may exhibit crystalline phases. Their existence is reflected in a moat regime, where mesonic correlations feature spatial modulations. We study the real-time properties of pions at finite temperature and density in QCD in order to elucidate the nature of this regime. We show that the moat regime arises from particle-hole-like fluctuations near the Fermi surface. This gives rise to a characteristic peak in the spectral function of the pion at nonzero spacelike momentum. This peak can be interpreted as a new quasi particle, the moaton. In addition, our framework also allows us to directly test the stability of the homogeneous chiral phase against the formation of an inhomogeneous condensate in QCD. We find that an inhomogeneous instability is highly unlikely for baryon chemical potentials μ B ≤ 630 MeV . Published by the American Physical Society 2025

Topological Superconductivity in the Doped Chiral Spin Liquid on the Triangular Lattice

It has been established that the undoped, i.e., δ = 0 , system has a CSL ground state in the parameter region 0.32 ≤ J χ / J ≤ 0.56 . Upon light doping, we find that the ground state of the system is consistent with a Luther-Emery liquid with power-law superconducting and charge-density-wave correlations but short-range spin-spin correlations. In particular, the superconducting correlations, whose pairing symmetry is consistent with d ± i d wave, are dominant at all hole doping concentrations. Overall, our results provide direct evidences that doping the CSL on the triangular lattice can naturally give rise to topological superconductivity.
