Erratum to: Higgs boson production cross-section measurements and their EFT interpretation in the $4\ell $ decay channel at $\sqrt{s}=$13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

When quoting the final cross section result in the text of the paper (Eur. Phys. J. C 80 (2020) 957), the theory component of the uncertainty was incorrectly set to 0.04 pb while the correct value of 0.03 pb was given in Table 8 and in all other results reported in this paper.

Erratum to: Search for single top-quark production via flavour-changing neutral currents at 8 TeV with the ATLAS detector

One correction is noted for the paper. The branching fraction ($\mathcal{B}$($W →{ℓv}$) = 0.3246 was not included in the conversion of the observed cross-section limit, σ x $\mathcal{B}$( $t →Wb$) x ($\mathcal{B}$($W →{ℓv}$) < 2.9to the coupling constants $κ_{ugt}$ and $κ_{cgt}$ and the branching fractions $\mathcal{B}$( $t →ug$) and $\mathcal{B}$( $t →cg$). The inclusion leads to weaker observed exclusion limits on the coupling constants divided by the scale of new physics of $k_{ugt}$/ Λ <10 x 10 -3 TeV -1 and $k_{cgt}$/Λ <23 x 10 -3 TeV -1 and on the branching fractions $\mathcal{B}$( $t →ug$) < 1.2 x10 -4 and $\mathcal{B}$( $t →cg$) < 6.4 x 10 -4 . The predicted exclusion limits on the coupling constants divided by the scale of new physics are $k_{ugt}$/ Λ < 9.5 x 10 -3 TeV -1 and $\mathcal{B}$( $t →cg$)/ Λ < 22 x 10 -3 TeV -1 and on the branching fractions $\mathcal{B}$( $t →ug$) < 1.1 x 10 -4 and $\mathcal{B}$( $t →cg$) < 5.7 x 10 -4 . Updated distributions of the observed upper limits on the coupling constants for combinations of cgt and ugt channels are shown in Figure 10a and on the branching fractions in Figure 10b.

Search for a new pseudoscalar decaying into a pair of bottom and antibottom quarks in top-associated production in $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV proton–proton collisions with the ATLAS detector

A search for a pseudoscalar a produced in association with a top-quark pair, or in association with a single top quark plus a W boson, with the pseudoscalar decaying into b-quarks $(a → b\bar{b})$, is performed using the full Run 2 data sample using a dileptonic decay mode signature. The search covers pseudoscalar boson masses between 12 and 100 GeV and involves both the kinematic regime where the decay products of the pseudoscalar are reconstructed as two standard b-tagged small-radius jets, or merged into a large-radius jet due to its Lorentz boost. No significant excess relative to expectations is observed. Assuming a branching ratio BR$(a → b\bar{b})$ = 100%, the range of pseudoscalar masses between 50 and 80 GeV is excluded at 95% confidence level for a coupling of the pseudoscalar to the top quark of 0.5, while a coupling of 1.0 is excluded at 95% confidence level for the masses considered, with the coupling defined as the strength modifier of the Standard Model Yukawa coupling.

Cell Population–resolved Multiomics Atlas of the Developing Lung

The lung is a vital organ that undergoes extensive morphological and functional changes during postnatal development. To disambiguate how different cell populations contribute to organ development, we performed proteomic and transcriptomic analyses of four sorted cell populations from the lung of human subjects aged 0 to 8 years-old with a focus on early life. The cell populations analyzed included epithelial, endothelial, mesenchymal, and immune cells. Our results revealed distinct molecular signatures for each of the sorted cell populations that enable the description of molecular shifts occurring in these populations during post-natal development. Here, we confirmed that the proteome of the different cell populations was distinct regardless of age and identified functions specific to each population. We identified a series of cell population protein markers, including those located at the cell surface, that show differential expression and distribution on RNA in situ hybridization and immunofluorescence imaging. We validated the spatial distribution of AT1 and endothelial cell surface markers. Temporal analyses of the proteome of each of the four populations revealed processes modulated during postnatal development and disambiguating results obtained on whole tissue proteome. Finally, the proteome was compared to a transcriptomics survey performed on the same lung samples to evaluate processes under post-transcriptional control.

Data for A Transcriptomic Atlas of Acute Stress Response to Low pH in Multiple Issatchenkia orientalis Strains

Because of its natural stress tolerance to low pH, Issatchenkia orientalis (a.k.a. Pichia kudriavzevii ) is a promising non-model yeast for bio-based production of organic acids. Yet, this organism is relatively unstudied, and specific mechanisms of its tolerance to low pH are poorly understood, limiting commercial use. In this study, we selected 12 I. orientalis strains with varying acid stress tolerance (six tolerant and six susceptible) and profiled their transcriptomes in different pH conditions to study potential mechanisms of pH tolerance in this species. We identified hundreds of genes whose expression response is shared by tolerant strains but not by susceptible strains, or vice versa, as well as genes whose responses are reversed between tolerant and susceptible strains. We mapped regulatory mechanisms of transcriptomic responses via motif analysis as well as differential network reconstruction, identifying several transcription factors, including Stb5, Mac1, and Rtg1/Rtg3, some of which are known for their roles in acid response in Saccharomyces cerevisiae . Functional genomics analysis of short-listed genes and transcription factors suggested significant roles for energy metabolism and translation-related processes, as well as the cell wall integrity pathway and RTG-dependent retrograde signaling pathway. Finally, we conducted additional experiments for two organic acids, 3-hydroxypropionate and citramalate, to eliminate acid-specific effects and found potential roles for glycolysis and trehalose biosynthesis specifically for response to low pH. In summary, our approach of comparative transcriptomics and phenotypic contrasting, along with a multi-pronged bioinformatics analysis, suggests specific mechanisms of tolerance to low pH in I. orientalis that merit further validation through experimental perturbation and engineering.
