Fine structure of pentaquark multiplets in the dynamical diquark model

In this work, we apply the dynamical diquark model to predict the spectrum of hidden-charm pentaquark states in both unflavored and open-strange sectors. Using only Hamiltonian parameters introduced in the tetraquark S - and P -wave multiplets, the model naturally produces the level spacing supported by the most recent LHCb results for P c structures. Furthermore, using model inputs obtained from data of hidden-charm, open-strange tetraquarks ( Z c s ), we predict the spectrum of P c s states, including the recently observed P c s ( 4459 ) . We find all pentaquark candidates observed to date to belong to the 1 P multiplet and hence have positive parity.

Isospin 0 and 2 two-pion scattering at physical pion mass using all-to-all propagators with periodic boundary conditions in lattice QCD

A study of two-pion scattering for the isospin channels, 𝐼 = 0 and 𝐼 = 2, using lattice QCD is presented. Möbius domain-wall fermions, on top of the Iwasaki-DSDR gauge action for gluons with periodic boundary conditions, are used for the lattice computations, which are carried out on two ensembles of gauge field configurations generated by the RBC and UKQCD Collaborations with physical masses, inverse lattice spacings of 1.023 and 1.378 GeV, and spatial extents of 𝐿 = 4.63 and 4.58 fm, respectively. The all-to-all propagator method is employed to compute a matrix of correlation functions of two-pion operators. The generalized eigenvalue problem (GEVP) is solved for a matrix of correlation functions to extract phase shifts with multiple states—two pions with a nonzero relative momentum, as well as two pions at rest. Our results for phase shifts for both the 𝐼 = 0 and 𝐼 = 2 channels are consistent with the Roy equation and chiral perturbation theory, though at this preliminary stage our errors for 𝐼 = 0 are large. An important outcome of this work is that we are successful in extracting two-pion excited states, which are useful for studying 𝐾 → 𝜋⁢𝜋 decay, on physical-mass ensembles using the GEVP.

Determination of crossing-symmetric π π scattering amplitudes and the quark mass evolution of the σ constrained by lattice QCD

Lattice QCD spectra can be used to constrain partial-wave scattering amplitudes that, while satisfying unitarity, do not have to respect crossing symmetry and analyticity. This becomes a particular problem when extrapolated far from real energies, e.g. in the case of broad resonances like the σ , leading to large systematic uncertainties in the pole position. In this manuscript, we will show how dispersion relations can implement the additional constraints, using as input lattice-determined π π partial-wave scattering amplitudes with isospin–0,1,2. We will show that only certain combinations of amplitude parametrizations satisfy all constraints, and that when we restrict to these, the σ pole position is determined with minimal systematic uncertainty. The evolution of the now well-constrained σ pole with varying light quark mass is presented, showing how it transitions from a bound-state to a broad resonance. X Y Z spectroscopy at electron-hadron facilities. III. Semi-inclusive processes with vector exchange

Inclusive production processes will be important for the first observations of X Y Z states at new generation electron-hadron colliders, as they generally benefit from larger cross sections than their exclusive counterparts. We make predictions of semi-inclusive photoproduction of the χ c 1 ( 1 P ) and X ( 3872 ) , whose peripheral production is assumed to be dominated by vector exchanges. We validate the applicability of vector meson dominance in the axial-vector charmonium sector and calculate production rates at center-of-mass energies relevant for future experimental facilities. We find the semi-inclusive cross sections near the threshold to be enhanced by a factor of ∼ 2 – 3 compared to the exclusive reaction and well-suited for a first observation in photoproduction. Absorptive corrections to the electromagnetic form factor in high-energy elastic proton-proton scattering

Recently, it was noted that absorptive corrections to the electromagnetic form factor in high-energy proton-proton scattering are important for the theoretical interpretation of the p ↑ p and p ↑ A analyzing power A N ( t ) measurements with the Hydrogen Jet Target polarimeter (HJET) at RHIC. Here, a concise expression for the absorptive correction was derived within the eikonal approach. The resulting analysis reveals a systematic bias, nearly independent of the beam energy, in the experimental determination of the real-to-imaginary ratio ρ when absorption effects are overlooked in the data analysis. Quantification of this bias, as ρ meas = ρ + ( 0.036 ± 0.016 ) bias , was achieved using a Regge fit applied to available proton-proton measurements of ρ meas ( s ) and σ tot meas ( s ) . Considering the potential impact of such an effect on the experimentally determined A N ( t ) , one may enhance consistency between the HJET and STAR measurements of the hadronic spin-flip amplitude. While the sign of the bias in the value of ρ aligns with the anticipated effective increase in the proton charge radius in p p scattering due to absorption, it amplifies the observed discrepancy between σ tot meas and ρ meas values at s = 13 TeV as measured in the TOTEM experiment. Evaluation (using published TOTEM data) of the measured proton-proton d σ / d t dependence on the absorptive corrections indicated that possible soft photon corrections to the hadronic amplitude slope may be essential for such data analysis. Observation of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay Λ c + → p π 0

Utilizing 4.5 fb − 1 of e + e − annihilation data collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider at center-of-mass energies between 4.600 and 4.699 GeV, the first observation of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay Λ c + → p π 0 is presented, with a statistical significance of 5.4 σ . The ratio of the branching fractions of Λ c + → p π 0 and Λ c + → p η is measured as B ( Λ c + → p π 0 ) / B ( Λ c + → p η ) = ( 0.120 ± 0.02 6 stat ± 0.00 7 syst ) . This result resolves the longstanding discrepancy between earlier experimental searches, providing both a decisive conclusion and valuable input for QCD-inspired theoretical models. A sophisticated deep learning approach using a Transformer-based architecture is employed to distinguish the signal from the prevalent hadronic backgrounds, complemented by thorough validation and systematic uncertainty quantification.
