This paper analyzes Wi-Fi signal propagation inside pressurized modules of the International Space Station (ISS). Various flight datasets were collected by the Astrobee fleet of autonomous free-flying robots developed by the NASA Ames Research Center (ARC). The enclosed module spaces of the ISS pose unique challenges for Wi-Fi signal propagation, and understanding these challenges is crucial for optimizing connectivity in such environments. The survey data presented are valuable for optimizing wireless access point (WAP) locations and conditions. A computational method is developed to analyze the wireless communication system, RF coverage, and module compositions. The method is both rigorous and practical for assessing the ISS wireless system performance. The computational tools in this paper serve as a complementary approach to direct, on-orbit measurements, which is a complicated and expensive task. In some operational scenarios, ground measurements may be intractable due to the size of the spacecraft. Results from this research will aid future space missions and commercial spacecraft, providing insights into optimal WAP placements and robust wireless communication systems.
The February 2022 geomagnetic storm was a moderate but extended event that may have been associated with two interplanetary coronal mass ejection (ICME) arrivals. The first of these coronal mass ejections (CMEs) was first visible in SOHO LASCO C2 coronagraph imagery on 29 January and may be associated with the arrival of an interplanetary shock at L1 late on 1 February, followed by the separate arrival of a flux rope at L1 approximately one day afterward. The second CME was first visible in SOHO LASCO C2 coronagraph imagery on 1 February and may be associated with the arrival of a weaker interplanetary shock at L1 late on 3 February, just hours after the SpaceX launch. While the second arrival was relatively weak, it further enhanced geomagnetic conditions that had resulted from the first arrival. This work analyzes the two CMEs, their propagation into interplanetary space, and their associated geomagnetic impacts.

The present invention relates to isolated polypeptides having beta-xylosidase activity and polynucleotides encoding the polypeptides. The invention also relates to nucleic acid constructs, vectors, and host cells comprising the polynucleotides as well as methods of producing and using the polypeptides.
Various samples are generated on a substrate. The samples each includes or consists of one or more analytes. In some instances, the samples are generated through the use of gels or through vapor deposition techniques. The samples are used in an instrument for screening large numbers of analytes by locating the samples between a working electrode and a counter electrode assembly. The instrument also includes one or more light sources for illuminating each of the samples. The instrument is configured to measure the photocurrent formed through a sample as a result of the illumination of the sample.
Embodiments provide a multi-cone X-ray imaging Bragg crystal spectrometer for spectroscopy of small x-ray sources with a well-defined spectral resolution. The spectrometer includes a glass substrate machined to a multi-cone form; and a thin crystal slab attached to the glass substrate, whereby the multi-cone X-ray imaging Bragg crystal spectrometer provides rotational symmetry of a ray pattern, providing for accurate imaging, for each wavelength in the spectral range of interest. One or more embodiments include a streak camera and/or a gated strip detector.
