QPatLib v1.0 — Measurement-based quantum simulation Pauli string unitary pattern collections

This Zenodo record accompanies the paper “Scalable Measurement-Based Quantum Simulation Patterns for Benchmarking” arXiv.2605.12502 and provides QPatLib v1.0 measurement-pattern datasets in human-readable JSONL together with a ZIP archive of OpenQASM 3.0 circuits used for validation and reproducibility. The patterns and circuits implement Pauli string unitaries for benchmark cases. Cases include all possible string combinations for less than 6 qubits and strings used in Hamiltonians for certain diatomic molecules for 6 or more qubits. Format: Each pattern_*.jsonl file is containins measurement patterns for all subsets for a given model/instance and subset strategy: it begins with a preamble containing model metadata, subset definitions, provenance, and (when feasible) full-pattern test results, followed by one pattern entry per subset. Each subset entry includes a required pattern_ascii field storing the measurement pattern in the measurement-calculus/Graphix standard with signal shifting, written left-to-right in the canonical order nodes → edges → measurements (with signal dependencies) → byproduct corrections (X/Z). The circuits are included as circuit_files.zip. Patterns in this record were validated against the corresponding circuits and checked for causal flow. Codes for generating these patterns can be found at QPatLib repository on Github

On the Crystal Structure of Colloidally Prepared Metastable Ag2Se Nanocrystals

Structural polymorphism is known for many bulk materials; however, on the nanoscale metastable polymorphs tend to form more readily than in the bulk, and with more structural variety. One such metastable polymorph observed for colloidal Ag2Se nanocrystals has traditionally been referred to as the “tetragonal” phase of Ag2Se. While there are reports on the chemistry and properties of this metastable polymorph, its crystal structure, and therefore electronic structure, has yet to be determined. We report that an anti-PbCl2-like structure type (space group P21/n) accurately describes the powder X-ray diffraction and X-ray total scattering patterns of colloidal Ag2Se nanocrystals prepared by several different methods. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations indicate that the anti-PbCl2-like Ag2Se polymorph is a dynamically stable, narrow-band gap semiconductor. DFT results reveal a dense theoretical Ag2Se phase space with many low-energy polymorphs, which helps explain the large number of polymorphs reported in the literature. Analysis and calculation data are stored in the zip archive. The `ag2se-calcs.aiida.` contains the provenance of the calculations and can be imported into an AiiDA database instance. The antiPbCl2like_Ag2Se_laboratory.cif file is the Reitveld refined Ag2Se structure starting from the PbCl2 structure.

Snow ALbedo eVOlution (SALVO) Campaign Spectral Albedo and Related Measurements from April - June, 2024 in Utqiagivk, AK

A field-portable spectroradiometer, referred to herein as an ‘ASD’, was used to make spatially-distributed spectral albedo (350 – 2500 nm) measurements on tundra and sea ice surfaces. The ASD detector is carried in a backpack and controlled via a computer mounted on the front of the operator (see Figure 1). The ASD measures the spectral irradiance from a fiber optic cable that is routed from the backpack to a custom, gooseneck cosine collector mounted on the end of a 1-m long boom (Grenfell and Perovich, 2008). The boom was held at hip height (approximately 1 m) and had an integrated bubble level for levelling. To make an albedo measurement, first the operator collect an incident (down-welling) irradiance, followed by a reflected (up-welling) measurement. The time between incident and reflected measurements was typically between 11 and 26 seconds (interquartile range). For each measurement, 10 spectra are averaged together. Albedo is calculated as the ratio of the reflected to incident measurement, which obviates the need for absolute radiometric calibration. Albedo measurements were taken parallel to the 200-m albedo lines at 5-m increments (41 measurements) ~1 m south of the line. While the ASD operator was making measurements, an assistant kept notes on the scan number associated with each measurement, the surface type (see below), and collected photos of each measurement (see companion oblique photos data archive). Measurements were made within 3 hours of solar noon.

Merged aerosol size distribution from SMPS and OPC for SAIL

This dataset contains merged aerosol number size distribution data for the Surface Atmosphere Integrated Field Laboratory (SAIL) campaign. The merged size distribution data were constructed by combining measurements from a scanning-mobility particle sizer (SMPS) and an optical particle counter (OPC), covering a size range of 0.01–35 µm. The merging methodology follows the approach described by Hand and Kreidenweis (2002) and Marinescu et al. (2019). All aerosol data from the ARM archive were corrected to standard temperature (273.15 K) and pressure (101.3 kPa).

ERA5-Land Data for LASSO-CACTI Overview Paper

The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) generated a soil reanalysis dataset for the land component of the fifth generation of European ReAnalysis (ERA5), referred to as ERA5-Land. This is a model-generated dataset, with the original version available for the period 1950 to present. The version archived in this DOE ARM product is a subset of the data is for the period of the CACTI field campaign plus several preceding months, specifically from August 1, 2018 through March 22, 2019 with hourly intervals. The ARM copy is also a sub-region of the original global product; the ARM copy is for -60 to -5 °N by -105 to -30 °W. Only variables necessary to drive the WRF-Hydro model are included, which are the 2-m temperature and specific humidity, 10-m wind components, surface pressure, rain rate, and downward surface short and longwave radiation. These data have been obtained from the Copernicus Data Store.

Snow ALbedo eVOlution (SALVO) Campaign Qualitative Characterization of Snowpack Stratigraphy from April - June, 2024 in Utqiagivk, AK

The physical structure of the snowpack is impacted by and impacts the exchange of energy with the atmosphere. Qualitative characterization of snowpack stratigraphy in snow pits provides context for what physical processes are changing the snow (e.g., melt, wind-packing, hoar formation). 36 snowpits were dug as part of the 2024 Snow Albedo Evolution (SALVO) field campaign. Snow grain stratigraphy was recorded using standard International Association of Cryospheric Sciences (IACS) snow grain classification ( https://cryosphericsciences.org/publications/snow-classification/) and hand hardness tests (in order of least hard to hardest: F (fist), 4F (four fingers), 1F (one finger), P (pencil), K (knife), I (ice)). These snowpits were generally co-located with library site albedo measurements and are given the same index (Date, Site, Location, Position) when appropriate (see broadband and spectral albedo data archived from the SALVO II project).

DGPS measurements of solifluction and hillslopes creep at the Teller 47 field site from 2017-2022, Seward Peninsula, AK

DGPS measurements of benchmarks locations were collected during the 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 summers at the NGEE Arctic Teller-47 solifluction site on the Seward Peninsula, Alaska. Benchmarks were installed in 2017 on several solifluction lobes and hillslope locations and re surveyed in 2018 and 2019 with a Trimble R10 DGPS instrument. In 2018, coincident with a UAS-based laser altimetry collection campaign, more ground control targets were installed and subsequently remeasured in 2019. Additional ground control targets were installed in 2021. Points were corrected using NOAA’s Online Positioning User Software (OPUS) and Trimble Business Center (TBC) software. An update to this dataset was made in July 2024, adding new data from 2021 and 2022. The dataset now contains ten total *.csv files: five are data files plus one file-level metadata and five data dictionaries, two *.jpg, four shape file folders, two *.kml, one archive folder of raw data, and one *.pdf. Orthoimagery and Shapefiles Documenting Pre- and Post-August 2019 Slope Disturbances, Teller Road Site, Seward Peninsula, Alaska, 2018-2019

This dataset was derived from UAS aerial photos and dGPS data collected at the Teller mile marker 47 site in 2018 and 2019 and used to support research quantifying the timing and rate of surface movements and analyze soil transport process in Arctic landscapes. In July 2018, a Phantom uncrewed aerial system (UAS) collected >6800 high resolution aerial photos of the lower portion of the Teller 47 watershed (see for raw photos; pending archive NGA281). During the UAS survey, 25 x 25 cm tile ground control points (GCPs) were laid out and secured with one rebar rod in the center. The four corners and rebar tops were surveyed with differential GPS, and these coordinates were used to construct and validate an orthomosaic of the site. These points were resurveyed in August 2019 and used to track annual movement. Changes in position between the two surveys are reported in (Lathrop et al. 2022; NGA254). Agisoft Metashape photogrammetry software was used to construct a georeferenced orthomosaic image (*.tif file) of a portion (0.68 km2) of the watershed with a final resolution of ~1 cm. Manual delineation of the perimeters of failures visible in the UAS imagery (*.tif files) was conducted to create shapefile polygons (two *.zip files). The failures were identified by the exposure of bare mineral soils, which were made visible by disruption of the overlying tundra vegetation. The shapefiles were then used to analyse the topographic distribution and sizes of the failures. In August 2019 an additional ~300 georeferenced UAS images of slope instability features were collected (data pending submission) and compared with the 2018 orthomosaic. Overview maps of the failure locations included as a *.pdf.The Next-Generation Ecosystem Experiments: Arctic (NGEE Arctic), was a research effort to reduce uncertainty in Earth System Models by developing a predictive understanding of carbon-rich Arctic ecosystems and feedbacks to climate. Public water supply infrastructure extensification and diversification in surface waters is insufficient to meet future demands in Texas

The data were developed to evaluate the capacity of existing and potential new surface water supply infrastructure to meet projected public water demands across districts in Texas under multiple future socioeconomic and climate scenarios. The database integrates hydrologic, water quality, infrastructure, energy, cost, demographic, and demand-projection information for candidate surface water supply locations. Candidate sites include stream reaches, waterbodies, reservoir surplus locations, and potential new reservoir sites. Water availability is characterized using historical and projected flow conditions, while site suitability is evaluated using five indicators: Water Availability Index (WAI), Water Quality Index (WQI), Energy Requirement Index (ERI), Water Treatment Cost (WTC), and Water Infrastructure Cost (WIC). The datasets include statewide candidate-site information, district-level demand projections under Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs), runoff-based allocation constraints, climate-stress metrics, and optimization outputs evaluating alternative infrastructure planning strategies. Optimization results compare Business-as-Usual (BAU) and All Surface Water (AllSW) demand-management approaches under both scaled and fixed cost-cap strategies. Associated validation datasets provide district-level feasibility assessments, infrastructure selection outcomes, cost-cap utilization, demand satisfaction metrics, and constraint diagnostics. Additional datasets quantify projected changes in storage and flow conditions as well as water availability stress for both existing and newly selected intake locations under the SSP5 scenario for mid-century and late-century climate conditions. Together, these datasets support assessment of the extent to which surface-water infrastructure expansion and diversification strategies can satisfy future public water demands while accounting for hydrologic, economic, and planning constraints across Texas.
