Using DNA affinity purification sequencing (DAP-seq) to identify in vitro binding sites of potential Novosphingobium aromaticivorans DSM12444 transcription factors

Genome-wide binding sites of 44 putative transcription factors (TFs) from Novosphingobium aromaticivorans DSM12444 were analyzed using DNA affinity purification sequencing. We report that 32 of these TFs have at least one area of enrichment. These data will help better understand aromatic metabolism and other features of N. aromaticivorans biology.

Whole genome sequence of the syntrophic benzoate-degrading bacterium, Syntrophus buswellii DSM 102354 T

The syntrophic obligate proton-reducing bacterium Syntrophus buswellii DSM 102354 T , isolated from anaerobic digester sludge, degrades benzoate and possibly hydrocinnamate (phenyl-3-propionate) when grown with a suitable hydrogenotrophic partner. The complete genome sequence data provide insight regarding aromatic compound degradation under thermodynamically limiting conditions when exogenous electron acceptors are absent.

Draft Genome Sequences of Switchgrass Diazotrophs

We report the draft genome sequences of five native nitrogen-fixing bacteria associated with roots of switchgrass isolated from the Tallgrass Prairies of Oklahoma. Nitrogen-fixing genes, including the nif cluster, are conserved across the Klebsiella and Kosakonia strains.

Genome Sequences of Burkholderia thailandensis Strains E421, E426, and DW503

ABSTRACT We present the draft genome sequences of three Burkholderia thailandensis strains, E421, E426, and DW503. E421 consists of 90 contigs of 6,639,935 bp and 67.73% GC content. E426 consists of 106 contigs of 6,587,853 bp and 67.73% GC content. DW503 consists of 102 contigs of 6,458,767 bp and 67.64% GC content.

Annotated Genome Sequence of the High-Biomass-Producing Yellow-Green Alga Tribonema minus

Here, we report the annotated genome sequence for a heterokont alga from the class Xanthophyceae. This high-biomass-producing strain, Tribonema minus UTEX B 3156, was isolated from a wastewater treatment plant in California. It is stable in outdoor raceway ponds and is a promising industrial feedstock for biofuels and bioproducts.

Draft genome sequence of Yarrowia lipolytica NRRL Y-64008, an oleaginous yeast capable of growing on lignocellulosic hydrolysates

ABSTRACT Yarrowia lipolytica is an oleaginous yeast that produces high titers of fatty acid-derived biofuels and biochemicals. It can grow on hydrophobic carbon sources and lignocellulosic hydrolysates. The genome sequence of Y. lipolytica NRRL Y-64008 is reported to aid in its development as a biotechnological chassis for producing biofuels and bioproducts.

Genome-sequenced bacterial collection from sorghum aerial root mucilage

ABSTRACT A collection of 47 bacteria isolated from the mucilage of aerial roots of energy sorghum is available at the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center, Michigan State University, Michigan, USA. We enriched bacteria with putative plant-beneficial phenotypes and included information on phenotypic diversity, taxonomy, and whole genome sequences.

Genome-sequenced bacterial collection from sorghum epicuticular wax

ABSTRACT A collection of 44 isolates isolated from the epicuticular wax of stems of energy sorghum is available at the Great Lakes Bioenergy Researcher Center, Michigan State University, MI, USA. We enriched bacteria with putative plant-beneficial phenotypes and include information on their phenotypic diversity, taxonomy, and whole-genome sequences.

High-Quality Draft Genome Sequence of the Siderophilic and Thermophilic Leptolyngbyaceae Cyanobacterium JSC-12

The siderophilic, thermophilic Leptolyngbyaceae cyanobacterium JSC-12 was isolated from a microbial mat in an iron-depositing hot spring. Here, we report the high-quality draft genome sequence of JSC-12, which may help elucidate the mechanisms of resistance to extreme iron concentrations in siderophilic cyanobacteria and lead to new remediation biotechnologies.

Genome Sequences of Frankineae sp. Strain MT45 and Jatrophihabitans sp. Strain GAS493, Two Actinobacteria Isolated from Forest Soil

Frankiaceae are bacterial endosymbionts that are also found free-living in soil. Here, we present the genome sequences of two novel bacterial members of the order Frankiales , class Actinobacteria , isolated from temperate terrestrial forest soils. The genomes for MT45 and GAS493 indicate a genetic capacity for carbohydrate degradation but not nitrogen fixation.

Complete Genome Sequence of the Novel Roseimicrobium sp. Strain ORNL1, a Verrucomicrobium Isolated from the Populus deltoides Rhizosphere

Roseimicrobium sp. strain ORNL1 is a soil bacterium that belongs to the phylum Verrucomicrobia and was isolated from the rhizosphere of a forest Eastern cottonwood tree, Populus deltoides , in Tennessee. Its 7.9-Mb chromosome was completely sequenced using PacBio long reads and is predicted to encode 6,288 proteins and 76 RNAs.
