Materials Data on GaTe by Materials Project

GaTe is black P-derived structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of four GaTe sheets oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Ga2+ is bonded in a distorted trigonal non-coplanar geometry to three equivalent Te2- atoms. All Ga–Te bond lengths are 2.71 Å. Te2- is bonded in a distorted trigonal non-coplanar geometry to three equivalent Ga2+ atoms.
