Program handles several types of composites and several load conditions for each plate, both compressive or tensile membrane loads, and bending-stretching coupling via the concept of reduced bending rigidities. Vibration frequencies of homogeneous or layered anisotropic plates can be calculated by slightly modifying the program.
Structures Research Associates (SRA) system of programs is composed of six compatible computer programs for structural analyses of axisymmetric shell structures. Theories and methods upon which these programs are based are presented in documentation. They apply to a common structural model but analyze different modes of structural response.

A practical finite element method is presented for geometrically nonlinear (von Karman) plate problems. Symmetric strain energy tensors provide an efficient formulation and solution, and allow the effects of initial imperfections to be considered. An unbalanced force iteration is employed, with the advantage that the time consuming Gauss decomposition needs to be performed only once. The convergence is controlled by an automatically computed relaxation factor, and this makes the method applicable in advanced stages of non-linearity. Several different triangular elements are used in explicitly deriving the required tensors.

DESAP 2 synthesizes linear-elastic structures under static loads. Objective is to find element sizes (cross-sectional areas, plate thicknesses, and the like) that minimize total structural weight without changing layout of structure. Weight is minimized for given layout subject to prescribed contstraints.
