Simultaneous optimization of presampling filter and postsampling linear filter in sample data systems with read-in jitter
Set of cards with scale divisions and a scale finder permits accurate reading of the coordinates of points on linear or logarithmic graphs plotted on rectangular grids. The set contains 34 different scales for linear plotting and 28 single cycle scales for log plots.
Parallel horizontal line raster is used for precision timing of events occurring less than 500 microseconds apart for observation of hypervelocity phenomena. The raster uses a staircase vertical deflection and eliminates ambiguities in reading timing of pulses close to the end of each line.

Flexible input schemes for digital programs are described. No card format or special order of cards is required. Read package is controlled by small set of parameters which can be changed to account for differences in computers and digital programs.
Transformer-type memory is fault-tolerant array of independent read-only memory units. Information pattern in each unit is written by weaving wires through array of linear (nonswitching) transformers. Presence or absence of a bit is determined by whether a given wire threads or bypasses given transformer.
A heterodyne readout technique for read-write holographic memory systems that reconstruct a virtual image wavefront is described and demonstrated. The conventionally recorded hologram is illuminated simultaneously with a suitable combination of temporally modulated reference and modified object waves for readout. Best performance is obtained for temporal phase modulation. The coupling of the illuminating wavefronts by the hologram is analyzed.
A system for the recording and processing of telescope data is considered for measurements of EW asymmetry. The information is recorded by 45 channels on a continuously moving 35-mm film. The dead time of the recorder is about 0.1 sec. A sorting electronic circuit is used to reduce the errors when the statistical time distribution of the pulses is recorded. The recorded information is read out by means of photoresistors. The phototransmitter signals are fed either to the mechanical recorder unit for preliminary processing, or to a logical circuit which controls the operation of the punching device. The punched tape is processed by an electronic computer.
