Skin-stringer panel normal mode response experimental data and finite element computer program documentation

Detailed information is presented for the analytical and the experimental programs described in the report on Effects of Design Details on Structural Response to Acoustic Excitation, NASA CR-1959. This is a supplement to the basic report and detailed experimental data from all the specimens described in that report are discussed and presented in tabular form.

Computer programs and documentation

Various statistical tests that were used to check out random number generators are described. A total of twelve different tests were considered, and from these, six were chosen to be used. The frequency test, max t test, run test, lag product test, gap test, and the matrix test are included.

Skylab 3 preliminary reference Earth Resources Experiment Package (EREP) pass planning document. Volume 2: EREP sites and S190 swath study of selected revs

The ground tracks and S190 swaths are presented of selected revolutions over areas containing earth resources experiment package (EREP) sites. The following eight EREP disciplines are shown: sensor performance evaluation, forestry, geology, hydrology, land use mapping, oceanography, pollution, and weather. Most of the data reported consists of passes over the continental United States.

Feasibility study of an aerospace museum in the western United States. Volume 2: Documentation

Papers supporting the study on establishing an aerospace museum in the western United States are presented. These cover the following areas of investigation: (1) The potential locations in the west were analyzed, and the most logical locations for museum development are Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, and Phoenix/Tucson. (2) The 26 museums and other organizations with significant public displays of aeronautics, astronautics, or astronomy are listed. (3) The activities and functions of museums, and their obligations to the user-visitor are discussed. (4) The sources for construction and improvements, operations, and acquisitions are described. (5) General curatorial responsibilites in preserving and exhibiting aerospace specimens and artifacts are also discussed.

The 136 MHz/400 MHz earth station antenna-noise temperature prediction program documentation for RAE-B

A simulation study to determine the 136 MHz and 400 MHz noise temperature of the ground network antennas which will track the RAE-B satellite during data transmission periods is described. Since the noise temperature of the antenna effectively sets the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the received signal, a knowledge of SNR will be helpful in locating the optimum time windows for data transmission during low-noise periods. Antenna-noise temperatures at 136 MHz and 400 MHz will be predicted for selected earth-based ground stations which will support RAE-B. The antenna-noise temperature predictions will include the effects of galactic-brightness temperature, the sun, and the brightest radio stars. Predictions will cover the ten-month period from March 1, 1973 to December 31, 1973. The RAE-B mission will be expecially susceptible to SNR degradation during the two eclipses of the Sun occurring in this period.

Manned space flight nuclear system safety. Volume 3: Reactor system preliminary nuclear safety analysis. Part 2A: Accident model document, appendix

The detailed abort sequence trees for the reference zirconium hydride (ZrH) reactor power module that have been generated for each phase of the reference Space Base program mission are presented. The trees are graphical representations of causal sequences. Each tree begins with the phase identification and the dichotomy between success and failure. The success branch shows the mission phase objective as being achieved. The failure branch is subdivided, as conditions require, into various primary initiating abort conditions.
