Computer program for thermal analysis of shadow shields in a vacuum

Computer program determines temperature profiles and heat transfer rates for shadow shielded cryogenic tank. Tank, shields, and thermal radiation heat source are all axisymmetric. Thermal analysis considers varying shield and tank temperatures, surface properties, and geometric arrangements. Similar heat source properties are also considered.

User document for computer programs for ring-stiffened shells of revolution

A user manual and related program documentation is presented for six compatible computer programs for structural analysis of axisymmetric shell structures. The programs apply to a common structural model but analyze different modes of structural response. In particular, they are: (1) Linear static response under asymmetric loads; (2) Buckling of linear states under asymmetric loads; (3) Nonlinear static response under axisymmetric loads; (4) Buckling nonlinear states under axisymmetric (5) Imperfection sensitivity of buckling modes under axisymmetric loads; and (6) Vibrations about nonlinear states under axisymmetric loads. These programs treat branched shells of revolution with an arbitrary arrangement of a large number of open branches but with at most one closed branch.

BEAMR: An interactive graphic computer program for design of charged particle beam transport systems

A computer program for a PDP-15 is presented which calculates, to first order, the characteristics of charged-particle beam as it is transported through a sequence of focusing and bending magnets. The maximum dimensions of the beam envelope normal to the transport system axis are continuously plotted on an oscilloscope as a function of distance along the axis. Provision is made to iterate the calculation by changing the types of magnets, their positions, and their field strengths. The program is especially useful for transport system design studies because of the ease and rapidity of altering parameters from panel switches. A typical calculation for a system with eight elements is completed in less than 10 seconds. An IBM 7094 version containing more-detailed printed output but no oscilloscope display is also presented.

A real-time digital computer program for the simulation of a single rotor helicopter

A computer program was developed for the study of a single-rotor helicopter on the Langley Research Center real-time digital simulation system. Descriptions of helicopter equations and data, program subroutines (including flow charts and listings), real-time simulation system routines, and program operation are included. Program usage is illustrated by standard check cases and a representative flight case.
