Machine Learning Atom Probe Tomography Tool For Automatic And Fast Clustering

The software uses a YOLO11 segmentation model trained on synthetic data to analyze APT datasets. The workflow operates as follows: 1. Data Slicing: The APT dataset is divided into multiple 2D cross-sections of a specified thickness. 2. Segmentation: The model identifies point-dense regions within each 2D slice. 3. 3D Reconstruction: Detected regions (masks) from all slices are combined and reconstructed back into the original 3D space, forming clusters. The integration with HPC resources enables the software to process large-scale APT datasets efficiently. This combination of automation and scalability reduces manual intervention, improves reproducibility, and accelerates the clustering workflow.

Size-dependent second-order-like phase transitions in Fe nanocluster melting from low-temperature structural isomerization

Here, in this work, the melting phase transitions of Fe n nanoclusters with 10 ≤ n ≤ 100 atoms are investigated using classical many-body molecular dynamics simulations. For many cluster sizes, surface melting occurs at much lower temperatures than core melting. Surface and core melting points and energetic melting points (temperatures of maximum heat capacity, C v ) are calculated for all cluster sizes. Melting properties are found to be strong functions of cluster structure. Cluster sizes with closed-shell structures always have first-order-like phase transitions. Almost one-third of cluster sizes in the analyzed range exhibit second-order-like phase transitions due to the presence of multiple structural configurations close in energy. 1-shell clusters with one to a few more atoms than a neighboring closed-shell structure have very low surface melting points and very high energetic melting points compared to their closed-shell counterparts. In clusters above 50 atoms with certain core structures, melting of the surface before the core was observed.

A study of nucleation and growth of thin films by means of computer simulation: General features

Some of the processes involved in the nucleation and growth of thin films were simulated by means of a digital computer. The simulation results were used to study the nucleation and growth kinetics resulting from the various processes. Kinetic results obtained for impingement, surface migration, impingement combined with surface migration, and with reevaporation are presented. A substantial fraction of the clusters may form directly upon impingement. Surface migration results in a decrease in cluster density, and reevaporation of atoms from the surface causes a further reduction in cluster density.
