Resilience Strategies to Ensure Water Supply Continuity During Extended Grid Outages
The towns of Edgartown, Oak Bluffs and Tisbury, on the island of Martha’s Vineyard, MA, are concerned about the effect of prolonged grid outages on continuity of their water supply. Water pumping stations operated by the water utilities that currently serve each of the towns currently have backup power generation that can support water delivery for up to one week during peak water demand periods.
