Experimental study of a generic high-speed civil transport: Tabulated data

An experimental study of a generic high-speed civil transport was conducted in LaRC's 8-Foot Transonic Pressure Tunnel. The data base was obtained for the purpose of assessing the accuracy of various levels of computational analysis. Two models differing only in wing tip geometry were tested with and without flow-through nacelles. The baseline model has a curved or crescent wing tip shape while the second model has a more conventional straight wing tip shape. The study was conducted at Mach numbers from 0.30-1.19. Force data were obtained on both the straight and curved wing tip models. Only the curved wing tip model was instrumented for measuring pressures. Longitudinal and lateral-directional aerodynamic data are presented without analysis in tabulated form. Pressure coefficients for the curved wing tip model are also presented in tabulated form.

Message-Based SPDK Transport Utility (TED Report) [Slides]

The driving goal is to investigate the feasibility of a message-based data transport for SPDK. All of SPDK’s existing data transport protocols are “connection-based”, requiring a target to hold state for each connected client / initiator. At extreme scale, juggling these connections from a large number of initiators creates a performance bottleneck. Under a message-based paradigm, we can bypass this behavior, as all initiators share a global communication channel, held open for the entire run. In theory, this approach should minimize connection management overhead at extreme scale.

Vadose Zone Flow and Transport Parameters Data Package for the Hanford Site Composite Analysis

This report provides a description of the basis for the development and implementation of a conceptual model for vadose zone flow and transport for the Hanford Site composite analysis (CA) groundwater pathway analysis. The parameterization for a numerical model is intimately linked to the conceptual model framework. This report describes the basis for the selection of hydraulic and transport parameters for the hydrostratigraphic units (HSUs) identified in the 200 East and 200 West Areas. The following three-step process was used to develop the hydraulic properties and transport parameters for the CA modeling: 1. Breakdown of existing database on hydraulic properties by HSUs 2. Constitutive model parameters for laboratory, core-scale hydraulic properties 3. Upscaling for macroscopic, field-scale flow, and transport parameters This document provides data and information on the following items: A brief description and technical basis for the conceptual model selected to represent vadose zone flow and transport for the CA modeling. Variation in sediment particle size distribution for representative sites in the 200 East and West Areas. A summary of effective (upscaled) moisture retention, and saturated and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity estimates for the HSUs in the 200 East and West Areas. A summary of effective transport parameters, including sediment bulk density and macrodispersivity estimates for various HSUs. The 200 East Area B Complex perched water aquifer hydraulic properties

Future space transportation systems analysis study. Phase 1 extension: Transportation systems reference data, volume 2

Transportation mass requirements are developed for various mission and transportation modes based on vehicle systems sized to fit the exact needs of each mission. The parametric data used to derive the mass requirements for each mission and transportation mode are presented to enable accommodation of possible changes in mode options or payload definitions. The vehicle sizing and functional requirements used to derive the parametric data are described.

Proximity Portability and in Transit , M-to-N Data Partitioning and Movement in SENSEI [Book Chapter]

In high-performance parallel in situ processing, the term in transit processing refers to those configurations where data must move from a producer to a consumer that runs on separate resources. In the context of parallel and distributed computing on an HPC platform one of the central challenges is to determine a mapping of data from producer ranks to consumer ranks. This problem is complicated by the heterogeneity that arises in producer-consumer pairs, such as when producer and consumer codes have different levels of concurrency, different scaling characteristics, or different data models. The resulting mapping and movement of data from M producer to N consumer ranks can have a significant impact on aggregate application performance, particularly when the data consumer requires only a subset of the overall data for its task. This chapter focuses on the design considerations that underlie SENSEI’s implementation to this challenging problem. These design considerations extend the core SENSEI architecture and include ideas like the need to accommodate flexibility in the choice of different partitioning methods, the ability for a data consumer to request and receive only the subset of data needed for its particular operation, and the ability to leverage any of several different data transport tools. The idea of proximity portability, being able to use different data transport methods as part of an in transit workflow, is illustrated through the use of three different transport layers where switching from one transport tool to another is accomplished with only a configuration file change. Here, the chapter also includes a performance analysis summary showing the performance gains that are possible in terms of multiple metrics, such as memory footprint, time to solution, and amount of data moved, when using optimized partitioners in an in transit setting, gains that are made possible by the implementation shaped by specific design considerations.

2012 California Household Travel Survey Supplement

# 2012 California Household Travel Survey Supplement The 2012 California Household Travel Survey Supplement focused on gathering specific travel information from residents for the development of next-generation, activity-based models. Called the "Augment Survey," it supplemented the [2010–2012 California Household Travel Survey](https://www.nrel.gov/transportation/secure-transportation-data/tsdc-california-travel-survey). ## Data Collection Agency The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) hired Abt-SRBI, Inc. to conduct the survey. ## Methodology Travel data were collected from households via in-vehicle (625 vehicles) and wearable (244 participants) global positioning system (GPS) devices. ## Drive Cycle Processing and Filtering NREL has developed a GPS data filtration routine to filter erroneous data points in individual drive cycles sourced from GPS devices mounted in vehicles. Second-by-second drive cycle data collected from GPS-instrumented vehicles during this survey have passed through NREL's drive cycle processing and filtering routines. ## Survey Records Study records include 473 households. ## Transportation Data The SCAG data set contains data from 473 households that participated in one or more areas of study. Of these, 141 completed the wearable GPS portion of the study and 332 completed the vehicle GPS portion. There was no overlap between households participating in the two study areas (wearable and vehicle GPS). 2017 National Household Travel Survey - Arizona Add-On

# 2017 National Household Travel Survey – Arizona Add-On The Arizona add-on survey supplements the 2017 National Household Travel Survey (NHTS) with additional household samples and detailed travel behavior for an assigned travel day. ## Data Collection Agency The Federal Highway Administration conducted the NHTS and corresponding add-on surveys. ## Methodology This survey documents the demographic, attitudinal, and travel behavior for all members of 2,987 households, as collected from April 2016 to April 2017. Daily travel details provide insight into work and school commutes, non-emergency medical trips, shopping trips, and even how travel differs in the summer and on weekends as compared to a typical weekday when school is in session. When statistically weighted to adjust for survey biases, the data demographically represents all Americans and is appropriate for analysis at the national and census region levels. ## Survey Records Survey records include a total of 6,081 participants. ## Transportation Data The NHTS Arizona add-on data package contains a demographic and socioeconomic composition of 6,081 people from 2,987 households in Arizona, as well as detailed information on the travel behavior of each household for a designated 24-hour period. The survey logged more than 258,000 vehicle miles of travel by participants during 19,779 trips. For details on available data and variable definitions, see the [data dictionary](https://www.nrel.gov/media/docs/libraries/tsdc/data-elements-2017.xlsx?sfvrsn=ad09b18c_3).
