Prime VI

SAND2025-03757O Prime VI is a distribution-of-disease outbreak model calibration code based on variational inference. It accompanies a publication for submission to Statistics in Medicine journal, and the code will be maintained for open-source use on Sandia's GitLab. The software provides methods for calibrating an epidemiological model to measured case-count data for a multitude of correlated spatial regions. The code solves a Bayesian inverse problem for model calibration where the posterior over-model parameters are approximated through a custom implementation of variational inference. AI Design Assistant

SAND2025-01930O The AI Design Assistant uses ChatGPT to provide a natural language interface to airfoil analysis tools (XFOIL). Most of the code base is glue code, connecting XFOIL (a tool for analyzing airfoils) to the OpenAI interface. Among the more novel features are an airfoil geometry class and methods on how to extract detailed data from XFOIL. Control System for RF OPM

Frosted Tracks

SAND2025-01851O GP-BayesOpInf is a software tool that uses algorithms to combine Gaussian process regression, principal component analysis, and linear Bayesian inference to produce a probabilistic reduced-order model for time-dependent systems. Numerical examples include the compressible Euler equations for an ideal gas, a heat diffusion process with a nonlinear reaction term, and a set of ordinary differential equations describing a compartmental model in epidemiology. Sandia Image Labeling Tool (SILT)

SAND2025-01840O Sandia Image Labeling Tool (SILT) is a Python tool that labels images for machine learning and other applications. SILT uploads JSON files to create a template for labeling an image. SILT can then upload images, including images that are tens of GB large and dynamically loads them in a manner that a user, with a very modest spec laptop, can handle. It then saves the label as a JSON using the template. Poplar

SAND2025-00683O Poplar is a software tool that generates a phylogenetic tree from input gene and genome sequences. It integrates established tools to identify genes within genomes, group sequences, construct gene trees, and infer a species tree. Poplar processes nucleotide sequences, identifies similar sequences using Nucleotide BLAST, groups them with DBSCAN, aligns sequences with MAFFT, constructs gene trees with RAxML-NG, and infers a species tree using ASTRAL-Pro3. This pipeline provides a structured approach to phylogenetic analysis, facilitating the study of evolutionary relationships among species. SAND2025-00675O Tusqh is a software tool that generates cubical meshes in 2D and 3D and computes the homology of these meshes using persistent homology. It includes a grid cell in the output if its volume-fraction is above a selectable threshold, estimated by sampling points within the cell. Tusqh incorporates anti-aliasing algorithms to mitigate grid orientation and scale effects. It is designed for creating finite element meshes for simulations and can be used in various applications such as heat diffusion, mechanical simulations, and computer graphics rendering. The software outputs meshes in an open format compatible with downstream software.
