The NASA/JPL pilot ocean data system catalog

Data from various ground and satellite sensors collected and processed by various institutions cannot be used easily without a well planned method of determining their existence and location. The Global On-Line Data (GOLD) Catalog will provide a requestor with the ability to determine the existence of specific data holdings by specifying any combination of platform, measurement, location, or time. By this means, one can obtain details of data held at PODS and also at cooperating remote archives.

The Nimbus 6 data catalog. Volume 1: 12 June 1975 through 31 August 1975. Data orbits 1 through 1082

Subsections 1.2 through 1.10 of this catalog summarize the operational highlights of the individual experiments, present preliminary experiment results, and call attention to known data anamolies. Section 2 lists the on-off times for each experiment and provides a method for determining the geographical coverage of each experiment. Section 3 shows selected HIRS, SCAMS and ESMR images, and Section 4 presents THIR montages. Section 5 presents corrections to The Nimbus 6 User's Guide.

SKYMAP system description: Star catalog data base generation and utilization

The specifications, design, software description, and use of the SKYMAP star catalog system are detailed. The SKYMAP system was developed to provide an accurate and complete catalog of all stars with blue or visual magnitudes brighter than 9.0 for use by attitude determination programs. Because of the large number of stars which are brighter than 9.0 magnitude, efficient techniques of manipulating and accessing the data were required. These techniques of staged distillation of data from a Master Catalog to a Core Catalog, and direct access of overlapping zone catalogs, form the basis of the SKYMAP system. The collection and tranformation of data required to produce the Master Catalog data base is described. The data flow through the main programs and levels of star catalogs is detailed. The mathematical and logical techniques for each program and the format of all catalogs are documented.
