Fermi Large Area Telescope Fourth Source Catalog

We present the fourth Fermi Large Area Telescope catalog (4FGL) of γ-ray sources. Based on the first eight years of science data from the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope mission in the energy range from 50 MeV to 1 TeV, it is the deepest yet in this energy range. Relative to the 3FGL catalog, the 4FGL catalog has twice as much exposure as well as a number of analysis improvements, including an updated model for the Galactic diffuse γ-ray emission, and two sets of light curves (one-year and two-month intervals). The 4FGL catalog includes 5064 sources above 4σ significance, for which we provide localization and spectral properties. Seventy-five sources are modeled explicitly as spatially extended, and overall, 358 sources are considered as identified based on angular extent, periodicity, or correlated variability observed at other wavelengths. For 1336 sources, we have not found plausible counterparts at other wavelengths. More than 3130 of the identified or associated sources are active galaxies of the blazar class, and 239 are pulsars.

A Catalog of Candidate Double and Lensed Quasars from Gaia and WISE Data

Making use of strong correlations between closely separated multiple or double sources and photometric and astrometric metadata in Gaia Early Data Release 3 (EDR3), we generate a catalog of candidate double- and multiply imaged lensed quasars and active galactic nuclei (AGNs), comprising 3140 systems. It includes two partially overlapping parts: a sample of distant (redshifts mostly greater than 1) sources with perturbed data; and systems that have been resolved into separate components by Gaia at separations less than 2''. For the first part, which is roughly one-third of the published catalog, we synthesized 0.617 million redshifts using multiple machine-learning prediction and classification methods, using independent photometric and astrometric data from Gaia EDR3 and the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, with accurate spectroscopic redshifts from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) as a training set. Using these synthetic redshifts, we estimate a 4.9% rate of interlopers with spectroscopic redshifts below 1 in this part of the catalog. Unresolved candidate double and dual AGNs and quasars are selected as sources with a marginally high BP/RP excess factor (phot_bp_rp_excess_factor), which is sensitive to source extent, limiting our search to high-redshift quasars. For the second part of the catalog, additional filters on measured parallax and near-neighbor statistics are applied to diminish the propagation of the remaining stellar contaminants. The estimated rate of the positives (double or multiple sources) is 98%, and the estimated rate of dual (physically related) quasars is greater than 54%. A few dozen serendipitously found objects of interest are discussed in more detail, including known and new lensed images, planetary nebulae, young IR stars of peculiar morphology, and quasars with catastrophic redshift errors in SDSS.

Updated Void Catalogs of the SDSS DR7 Main Sample

Abstract We produce several public void catalogs using a volume-limited subsample of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7 (SDSS DR7). Using new implementations of three different void-finding algorithms, VoidFinder and two ZOBOV-based algorithms (VIDE and REVOLVER), we identify 1163, 531, and 518 cosmic voids with radii >10 h −1 Mpc, respectively, out to a redshift of z = 0.114 assuming a Planck 2018 cosmology, and 1184, 535, and 519 cosmic voids assuming a WMAP5 cosmology. We compute effective radii and centers for all voids and find none with an effective radius >54 h −1 Mpc. The median void effective radius is 15–19 h −1 Mpc for all three algorithms. We extract and discuss several properties of the void populations, including radial density profiles, the volume fraction of the catalog contained within voids, and the fraction of galaxies contained within voids. Using 64 mock galaxy catalogs created from the Horizon Run 4 N -body simulation, we compare simulated and observed void properties and find good agreement between the SDSS DR7 and mock catalog results.

Search for Multi-flare Neutrino Emissions in 10 yr of IceCube Data from a Catalog of Sources

A recent time-integrated analysis of a catalog of 110 candidate neutrino sources revealed a cumulative neutrino excess in the data collected by IceCube between 2008 April 6 and 2018 July 10. This excess, inconsistent with the background hypothesis in the Northern Hemisphere at the 3.3σ level, is associated with four sources: NGC 1068, TXS 0506+056, PKS 1424+240, and GB6 J1542+6129. Here, this Letter presents two time-dependent neutrino emission searches on the same data sample and catalog: a point-source search that looks for the most significant time-dependent source of the catalog by combining space, energy, and time information of the events, and a population test based on binomial statistics that looks for a cumulative time-dependent neutrino excess from a subset of sources. Compared to previous time-dependent searches, these analyses enable a feature to possibly find multiple flares from a single direction with an unbinned maximum-likelihood method. M87 is found to be the most significant time-dependent source of this catalog at the level of 1.7σ post-trial, and TXS 0506+056 is the only source for which two flares are reconstructed. The binomial test reports a cumulative time-dependent neutrino excess in the Northern Hemisphere at the level of 3.0σ associated with four sources: M87, TXS 0506+056, GB6 J1542+6129, and NGC 1068.

Early Results from GLASS-JWST. II. NIRCam Extragalactic Imaging and Photometric Catalog

We present the reduced images and multiwavelength catalog of the first JWST NIRCam extragalactic observations from the GLASS Early Release Science Program, obtained as coordinated parallels of the NIRISS observations of the Abell 2744 cluster. Images in seven bands (F090W, F115W, F150W, F200W, F277W, F356W, and F444W) have been reduced using an augmented version of the official JWST pipeline; we discuss the procedures adopted to remove or mitigate defects in the raw images. We obtain a multiband catalog by means of forced aperture photometry on point-spread function (PSF)-matched images at the position of F444W-detected sources. The catalog is intended to enable early scientific investigations, and it is optimized for faint galaxies; it contains 6368 sources, with limiting magnitude 29.7 at 5 σ in F444W. We release both images and catalog in order to allow the community to become familiar with the JWST NIRCam data and evaluate their merit and limitations given the current level of knowledge of the instrument.

DMTN-277: The Monster: A reference catalog with synthetic ugrizy-band fluxes for the Vera C. Rubin observatory

In order to facilitate bootstrap photometric calibrations of early Rubin Observatory data we have created an all sky reference catalog called The Monster. This reference catalog uses a rank-ordered set of other reference catalogs to generate synthetic ugrizy-band fluxes that can be used calibrate images processed with the LSST science pipelines. This document describes the methodology used to create The Monster, documents the input external reference catalogs, and performs basic data validation of the first version of The Monster.

Legacy Survey of Space and Time Data Preview 2: DiaSource searchable catalog

We present Rubin Data Preview 2 (DP2), the second data preview from the NDF-DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory. Data Preview 2 (DP2) comprises coadds, detection catalogs, and ancillary data products; and when fully released will also include single-epoch images and difference images. DP2 is derived from observations acquired by the LSST Science Camera (LSSTCam) on the Simonyi Survey Telescope at the Summit Facility on Cerro Pachón, Chile, primarily during the on-sky commissioning campaign between 2025-04-16 and 2025-09-21, supplemented by observations taken between 2025-10-25 and 2026-01-06 that overlap the commissioning footprint. The DP2 footprint comprises the Science Validation wide-area survey, five Deep Drilling Fields, and a number of targeted small-field regions, including Trifid and Lagoon, Prawn, M49, and New Horizons, all observed as part of the Rubin First Look campaign. Each field was imaged in up to six broad photometric bands, ugrizy, and coadded to produce deep imaging covering an estimated 3,000 deg2. The addition of single-visit-only areas expands the total DP2 footprint to an estimated 15,000 deg2, with coverage in at least one filter. The median per-visit PSF FWHM across the wide-area survey ranges from 1.17 arcsec in the z band to 1.26 arcsec in g and r bands. The deepest field, reaches estimated coadded 5σ depths of u=26 mag, g=26.8 mag, r=26.3 mag, i=26.1 mag, z=25.3 mag, y=23.9 mag. Based on a roughly five-month primary observing baseline and covering only part of the eventual LSST footprint, DP2's area, depth, and multiband coverage nonetheless support a broad range of early science investigations ahead of LSST Data Release This dataset is a subset of the full data release consisting of a searchable catalog named DiaSource. This catalog contains measurements for detected sources in difference images. This catalog contains 1,000,825,975 rows with 90 columns.
