Detector instrumentation is at the heart of scientific discoveries. Cutting edge technologies enable US particle physics to play a leading role worldwide. This report summarizes the current status of instrumentation for High Energy Physics (HEP), the challenges and needs of future experiments and indicates high priority research areas. The Snowmass Instrumentation Frontier studies detector technologies and Research and Development (R&D) needed for future experiments in collider physics, neutrino physics, rare and precision physics and at the cosmic frontier. It is divided into more or less diagonal areas with some overlap among a few of them. We lay out five high-level key messages that are geared towards ensuring the health and competitiveness of the US detector instrumentation community, and thus the entire particle physics landscape.

Ventilation is a key component to maintaining healthy, safe indoor air quality. Especially important in laboratories, ventilation is the first line of defense against airborne hazards produced during research activities. Though a vital component, laboratory ventilation systems are often victim to ineffective operation, posing a risk to the most important asset - the researchers. Furthermore, system inefficiencies can lead to up to 50% wasted energy. To improve both energy efficiency and safety in laboratories, we present the Smart Labs Toolkit - a resource developed by the U.S. Department of Energy Federal Energy Management Program and the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories that guides laboratory stakeholders through a straight-forward, holistic approach to achieve dynamic, high-performance laboratories. Smart Labs enable safe and efficient world class science to occur in laboratories through high-performance methods. A Smart Labs program employs a combination of physical, administrative, and management techniques to assess, optimize, and manage high performance laboratories. We will focus on a central component of the Smart Labs approach - the Laboratory Ventilation Risk Assessment, a systematic process for identifying risk due to airborne hazards to inform the operation of dynamic ventilation that optimizes safety and efficiency. Case studies of organizations who have successfully implemented Smart Labs ventilation management programs will also be shared. In learning ventilation strategies successful in critical laboratory environments, learn the tools and resources needed to successfully manage energy in any building through smarter, safer ventilation.

Tonga is facing a transportation sector characterized by private passenger vehicles, poorly maintained roads and walkways, and an inadequate public transit system. By understanding detailed global and regional trends for transport energy efficiency and electric vehicles (EVs) within this context, the Government of Tonga can proactively plan its future transportation systems. In addition to global and regional trends, this presentation also briefly examines Tonga's own transportation policies and actions. Jurisdictions leading in EV adoption have implemented policies such as reducing taxes on EVs compared to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, providing subsidies and rebates for EV charger installation, instituting an age limit on imported ICE vehicles, and developing EV maintenance courses to expand the skill set of current automotive technicians. This presentation was developed for the Pacific Islands Workshop on Electric Mobility, held from November 28th to November 30th 2022 in Fiji. NREL presented virtually and the conference was sponsored by the Pacific Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (PCREEE).

A processor core is configured to execute a parent task that is described by a data structure stored in a memory. A coprocessor is configured to dispatch a child task to the at least one processor core in response to the coprocessor receiving a request from the parent task concurrently with the parent task executing on the at least one processor core. In some cases, the parent task registers the child task in a task pool and the child task is a future task that is configured to monitor a completion object and enqueue another task associated with the future task in response to detecting the completion object. The future task is configured to self-enqueue by adding a continuation future task to a continuation queue for subsequent execution in response to the future task failing to detect the completion object.
