Polarographic carbon dioxide transducer amplifier

Electronic amplifier contains matched pair of metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor devices which have high input impedance and long-term stability. Thermistor in feedback loop provides temperature compensation for large drifts in the sensor.

Biomedical transducers.

Examples are given of some of the sensors and attachment techniques that have been developed during the last few years at the NASA centers for use in the space program. A detailed description is first given of the successive development of ECG electrodes, starting from their original simple form, that eventually resulted in the novel technology of spray-on electrodes. Finally, features of a new telemetering system under development, which is suitable for the recovery of ECG, respiration, body core temperature, and surface temperature, are outlined.

A self-supporting strain transducer

Self-contained mechanical measuring system is handmounted by simply compressing installation spring and inserting device into hole of matching size. It is self-aligning as each contact pin maintains constant contact with surface being measured. Strain level is controlled by design to provide for measurements over almost unlimited number of load cycles.

Experimental program to determine long term characteristics of the MDE pressure transducers

The pressure cell sensors developed for the Pioneer 10/G meteoroid detection experiments (MDE) were investigated to enhance their application and their potential as a sensor in other MDE applications. Their Paschen characteristics were also investigated, and the effects of variations in geometry, Ni-63 platings (for initial ionizations) and sealing pressures were determined. The effects of extensive pre-flight testing and proton and heavy ion space radiation were investigated. Flight-quality pressure panels/cells were committed to long term testing to demonstrate their suitability for the Pioneer 10/G Missions.

Reference apparatus for medical ultrasonic transducer

Once reference apparatus has been located properly, and its position on chest of patient has been recorded on skin by means of indelible fiducial marks, it is simple matter at later time to reposition probe on chest over heart. In this way, signals from exact same area of heart can be re-examined.

Absolute pressure transducers for space shuttle and orbiter propulsion and control systems

A preliminary design was completed, reviewing of such subjects as: the trade studies for media isolation and one sensor vs. two sensors for two bridges; compensation resistors; unit design; hydrogen embrittlement; sealing techniques and test station design. A design substantiation phase was finished, consisting of testing of a prototype unit and fabrication technique studies. A cryogenic test station was implemented and prototype sensor cells were fabricated, sensors assembled, and cryogenic tests performed.
