Inelastic neutron and capture gamma ray cross section libraries for COHORT Monte Carlo procedure
Bellcomm Exec 8 FORTRAN I/O library - BCMIO
On-line interactive book-library management system for performing circulation-desk bookeeping
General purpose computer program for access and use of alternate library file with minimum programming effort by user is described. Manner in which program is implemented after determining external requirements is analyzed. Program was developed for use with CDC-6400 computer.
The study to develop, implement, and maintain a space law library and information system is summarized. The survey plan; major interviews with individuals representative of potential sources, users and producers of information related to aerospace law; and system trade-off analyses are discussed along with the NASA/RECON system capability. The NASA publications of STAR and IAA are described, and the NASA legal micro-thesaurus is included.
The capabilities of the specified scheduling language and the program module library are outlined. The summary is written with the potential user in mind and, therefore, provides maximum insight on how the capabilities will be helpful in writing scheduling programs. Simple examples and illustrations are provided to assist the potential user in applying the capabilities of his problem.
An outline for an Image 100 procedures manual for Earth Resources Program image analysis was developed which sets forth guidelines that provide a basis for the preparation and updating of an Image 100 Procedures Manual. The scope of the outline was limited to definition of general features of a procedures manual together with special features of an interactive system. Computer programs were identified which should be implemented as part of an applications oriented library for the system.
The development, capabilities, and products of the computer-based retrieval system of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory Library are described. The system handles books and documents, produces a book catalog, and provides a machine search capability. Programs and documentation are available to the public through NASA's computer software dissemination program.
Detailed specifications of the prototype language and module library are presented. The user guide to the translator writing system is included.
The design of PORT stemmed from the basic principles of portability and ease of use. The attributes and mechanisms used in the library to support this philosophy include the use of a portable subset of FORTRAN, and the use of (machine-dependent) functions to supply the necessary environment parameters. Abbreviated calling sequences are mede possible by a simplified error-handling technique, and by the use of a portable stack allocator for temporary workspace. Experiences to date with these approaches, and plans for the future are reviewed.
A computerized method which utilizes the engine performance data and estimates the installed performance of aircraft gas turbine engines is presented. This installation includes: engine weight and dimensions, inlet and nozzle internal performance and drag, inlet and nacelle weight, and nacelle drag. The use of two data base files to represent the engine and the inlet/nozzle/aftbody performance characteristics is discussed. The existing library of performance characteristics for inlets and nozzle/aftbodies and an example of the 1000 series of engine data tables is presented.
A user guide for a library of interactive computer routines used to develop performance analysis models of specific environmental control and life support subsystems is presented.
A sample environmental control and life support model performance analysis using the environmental analysis routines library is presented. An example of a complete model set up and execution is provided. The particular model was synthesized to utilize all of the component performance routines and most of the program options.
The planning procedure being used to establish a technical library for the Deep Space Network support section is described. The inventory and survey methods employed are described and the preliminary results of these methods are discussed.
Report on installation, operation and performance of a solar-heating system installed at the Troy-Miami County Public Library in Troy, Ohio. Solar retrofit system complements passive solar-energy system and interfaces with existing heat, ventilation and air-conditioning systems.
Program available from COSMIC contains library of routines that simulate environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS). Through interactive dialogue with program, user selects routines to be assembled into simulation of particular ECLSS under consideration. Program is modular, and allows addition of new routines as they are required.
A pictorial representation of the MSFC silicon-on-sapphire standard cell library is presented. The cells are intended to be used with the PR2D (Place, Route in 2 Dimensions) automatic layout computer program.
Method which present a student with a more challenging and true to life situation of needing to conduct research in a problem solving context--and not thinking about organization of format until research and thinking are complete are investigated. Simulation-gaming techniques which attempt to teach initiative and creativity that library research are used for this purpose. However, it is shown case studies provide the greatest opportunities to engage the students in problem solving situations in which they develop skills as researchers and writers.
