Tension and expulsion times for cardiac systole as function of frequency in normal cardiovascular system of man
High speed analog-to-digital converters compared using redundancy encoding techniques
Formation rate of atomic hydrogen behind shock waves in hydrogen-argon mixtures
Atomic H formation rate behind shock waves in H-Ar mixtures, noting catalytic effect of additional O
Periodic shock in rats maintained on variable-interval schedule of reinforcement interspersed with sequence of three different stimulus conditions
Digital events evaluator reviews events preceding system malfunction and automatically prints out most probable cause of problem. Analysis is performed by comparing input data with nominal values stored in tables. Each table has associated system mask to restrict comparison to preselected critical parameters within a given system.
UNAMIT - computer code for calculating tungsten-water unit shield weights for 250 megawatt reactors
An analysis of structural failures that have occurred in NASA programs was conducted. Reports of 231 examples of structural failure were reviewed. Attempts were made to identify those factors which contributed to the failures, and recommendations were formulated for actions which would minimize their effects on future NASA programs. Two classes of factors were identified: (1) those associated with deficiencies in existing materials and structures technology and (2) those attributable to inadequate documentation or communication of that technology.
The effort to analyze and test the Teledyne/Adcom model G-146 demultiplexer to determine the feasibility and optimum method(s) for modifying the unit for broadband operation is described. The desired bandwidths under consideration included 2, 4, and 8 kHz for double sideband and quadrature double sideband, and 4, 8, and 16 kHz for single sideband.

The hardware design and implementation and test results are described of the accommodation of two wideband channels, 8 kHz DSB/QDSB located at 44 kHz and 16 kHz SSB, lower sideband, located at 104 kHz in a government furnished FDM demultiplexer unit.
The feasibility of obtaining lunar minerals for terrestrial uses is examined. Preliminary results gave indications that it will not be economically feasible to mine, refine, and transport lunar materials to Earth for consumption. A broad systems approach was used to analyze the problem. It was determined that even though the procedure was not economically advisable, the concept for the operations is technically sound.
The technologies and systems required to establish the mining base, mine, refine, and return lunar resources to earth are discussed. Gross equipment requirements, their weights and costs are estimated and documented. The operational requirements are analyzed and tabulated. Diagrams of equipment and processing facilities are provided.
An algorithm is proposed for dimensionality reduction in the context of clustering techniques based on histogram analysis. The approach is based on an evaluation of the hills and valleys in the unidimensional histograms along the different features and provides an economical means of assessing the significance of the features in a nonparametric unsupervised data environment. The method has relevance to remote sensing applications.
Simple computer software modification compensates for nonideal detector characteristics to provide improved system performance.
Spot-welding technique is less expensive than secondary-brazing and electron-beam methods. With procedure, standard plates can be modified in quantity for various mounting configurations without need for special tooling.
