Fresnel diffraction plates are simple and inexpensive

Fresnel plate demonstrates diffraction phenomena simply and inexpensively. A large number of identical diffracting apertures are made in random orientation on photographic film. When a small source of light is viewed through the plate, the diffraction pattern typical of the diffracting aperture is readily seen.

Unique frequency-shift-keyed demodulation system

Frequency-Shift-Keyed /FSK/ demodulator provides a frequency discriminator whose outputs are separate and applied to two identical decoding channels, one decoding binary ones and the other decoding binary zeros. This demodulator rejects data applied to it at any frequency higher than design.

Differentiating unit orthogonal vectors in a Riemannian space that admits and N-tuply orthogonal system of hypersurfaces.

In a normal coordinate system { y 𝑎 } , the identity 𝜕 2 𝑥 𝑝 /∂y 𝑛 ∂y 𝑚 = ∂ 2 𝑥 𝑝 /∂y 𝑚 ∂y 𝑛 is used to obtain expressions, involving the components of the metric tensor in this coordinate system, for the derivatives of the unit tangent vectors to the parametric curves. An example is given for a normal coordinate system in the De Sitter universe.

Acquisition of pseudonoise signals by sequential estimation

Rapid Acquisition by Sequential Estimation /RASE/ system is used in the receivers of tracking and communications systems to bring identical locally generated pseudonoise digital modulation signal into time synchronization with the incoming pseudonoise signal. This acquisition system is particularly suited for medium input signal-to-noise ratios.

Pneumatic flow comparator

Pneumatic flow comparator provides simple go, no-go evaluation of individual tubes. Flow characteristics of tubes used to form the walls of regeneratively cooled combustors must be identical within very close tolerances to ensure equally distributed coolant flow throughout the combustor wall.

Improved system for documenting measurement data

New documentation method reduces each system record to the basic system data card, one system recorder card, and a form fill-in type system diagram. All recorder data cards are of identical format, requiring only one line of keypunch data input to prepare recorder listing cards for a system.

Array multiplier

Digital array multiplier consisting of any number of identical digital adder cells in a repetitive planar configuration functions as a modular multiplier for use in computer applications of airborne vehicles. The modular multiplier utilizes large scale integration and metal oxide semiconductors.

Fiberglass honeycomb elements formed quickly and cheaply

Cookie cutter device initiates production of identical, double-contoured fiber glass elements used as shock absorbers. Three-bladed edges convert triangular honeycomb elements into hexagonal shapes which are then stamped to desired length by concave and convex dies. Sandpaper smoothing completes the process.
