Dust as a Working Fluid for Heat Transfer Project

The project known as "Dust as a Working Fluid" demonstrates the feasibility of a dust-based system for transferring heat radiatively into space for those space applications requiring higher efficiency, lower mass, and the need to operate in extreme vacuum and thermal environments - including operating in low or zero gravity conditions in which the dust can be conveyed much more easily than on Earth.

Report of the Interagency Space Reactor Standards Working Group

A U.S. governmental interagency space reactor standards working group (SWG) was convened in April 2021 with a memo from the NASA Chief Engineer to address the limited standards and regulations in place specifically for space reactor design and safety. The convening memo requested support from the Standards Executives of six other federal agencies. The Standards Executives agreed to support a 6-month study to assess the need for consensus standards and identified SWG representatives from each agency. This report summarizes the SWG’s study, their findings, and their recommendations.

The works of k. e. tsiolkovskiy on rocket technology

K. E. Tsiolkovskiy devoted a rather substantial portion of his works to the problem of flight by means of various reactive devices. We may state without exaggeration that Tsiolkovskiy considered his efforts in this direction to be of prime importance. Up to the time of his death Tsiolkovskiy continuously published articles; notes_ and calculations devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the possibilities and methods of interplanetary communications.

Thermionic scanner pinpoints work function of emitter surfaces

In the electron tube testing, a thermionic scanner makes accurate spatial resolution measurements of the metallic surface work functions of emitters. The scanner determines the emitter function and its local departures from the mean value on a point-by-point basis for display on an oscilloscope.
