We present the study of $\overline{B}$ 0 →Σ c (2455) 0,++ π ± $\overline{p}$ decays based on 772×10 6 B$\overline{B}$ events collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e + e - collider. The Σ c (2455) 0,++ candidates are reconstructed via their decay to Λ$^{+}_{c}$π ∓ and Λ$^{+}_{c}$ decays to pK - π + , pK$^{0}_{S}$, and Λπ + final states. The corresponding branching fractions are measured to be $\mathscr{B}$($\overline{B}$ 0 →Σ c (2455) 0 π + $\overline{p}$)=(1.09±0.06±0.07)×10 -4 and $\mathscr{B}$($\overline{B}$ 0 →Σ c (2455) ++ π - $\overline{p}$)=(1.84±0.11±0.12)×10 -4 , which are consistent with the world average values with improved precision. A new structure is found in the M Σ c (2455) 0,++π± spectrum with a significance of 4.2σ including systematic uncertainty. The structure is possibly an excited Λ$^{+}_{c}$ and is tentatively named Λ c (2910) + . Its mass and width are measured to be (2913.8±5.6±3.8) MeV/c 2 and (51.8±20.0±18.8) MeV, respectively. The products of branching fractions for the Λ c (2910) + are measured to be $\mathscr{B}$($\overline{B}$ 0 →Λ c (2910) + $\overline{p}$) × $\mathscr{B}$(Λ c (2910) + →Σ c (2455) 0 π + )=(9.5±3.6±1.6) x 10 -6 and $\mathscr{B}$($\overline{B}$ 0 →Λ c (2910) + $\overline{p}$) × $\mathscr{B}$(Λ c (2910) + →Σ c (2455 )++ π - )=(1.24±0.35±0.10)×10 -5 . Here, the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively.

The Jülich-Bonn dynamical coupled-channel approach is extended to include KΣ photoproduction off the proton. Differential cross section and (double) polarization data for K + Σ 0 and K 0 Σ + are analysed simultaneously with the pion- and photon-induced production of πN, ηN, KΛ, and KΣ final states, totaling almost 72,000 data points for center-of-mass energies W<2.4 GeV. Based on the fit results the spectrum of N * and Δ resonances is extracted in terms of pole positions and residues. We discuss the impact of the γp→KΣ channels in detail and investigate the influence of recent polarization data for ηp photoproduction.

We analyze the cool gas in and around 14 nearby galaxies (at z < 0.1) mapped with the Sloan Digital Sky Survey IV MaNGA survey by measuring absorption lines produced by gas in spectra of background quasars/active galactic nuclei at impact parameters of 0–25 effective radii from the galactic centers. Using Hubble Space Telescope/Cosmic Origins Spectrograph, we detect absorption at the galactic redshift and measure or constrain column densities of neutral (H I, N I, O I, and Ar I), low-ionization (Si II, S II, C II, N II, and Fe II), and high-ionization (Si III, Fe III, N v, and O vI) species for 11 galaxies. We derive the ionization parameter and ionization-corrected metallicity using cloudy photoionization models. The H i column density ranges from ~1013 to ~1020 cm-2 and decreases with impact parameter for r ≳ Re. Galaxies with higher stellar mass have weaker H I absorption. Comparing absorption velocities with MaNGA radial velocity maps of ionized gas line emissions in galactic disks, we find that the neutral gas seen in absorption corotates with the disk out to ~10 R e . Sight lines with lower elevation angles show lower metallicities, consistent with the metallicity gradient in the disk derived from MaNGA maps. Higher-elevation angle sight lines show higher ionization, lower H I column density, supersolar metallicity, and velocities consistent with the direction of galactic outflow. Our data offer the first detailed comparisons of circumgalactic medium (CGM) properties (kinematics and metallicity) with extrapolations of detailed galaxy maps from integral field spectroscopy; similar studies for larger samples are needed to more fully understand how galaxies interact with their CGM.
