Biomass pretreatment with distillable ionic liquids for an effective recycling and recovery approach

Ionic liquid (IL) pretreatment methods show incredible promise for the efficient conversion of lignocellulosic feedstocks to fuels and chemicals. Given their low vapor pressures, distillation-based methods of extracting ionic liquids out of biomass post-pretreatment have historically been ignored in favor of alternative methods. We demonstrate a process to distill four acetate-based ionic liquids ([EthA][OAc], [PropA][OAc], [MAEthA][OAc], and [DMAEthA][OAc]) at low pressure and high purity that overcome some disadvantages of “water washing” and “one pot” recovery methods. Out of four tested ILs, ethanolamine acetate ([EthA][OAc]) is shown to have the most agreeable conversion metrics for commercial bioconversion processes achieving 73.6% and 51.4% of theoretical glucose and xylose yields respectively and >85 % recovery rates. Our process metrics are factored into a techno-economic analysis where [EthA][OAc] distillation is compared to other recovery methods as well as ethanolamine pretreatment at both milliliter and liter scales. In conclusion, although our TEA shows [EthA][OAc] distillation underperforming against other processes, we show a step-by-step avenue to reduce sugar production cost below the wholesale dextrose price at scale.

Tuning conformational structures of imidazolium ionenes with 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ionic liquid solvents

In this report the structures and conformations of imidazolium ionenes solvated in 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ionic liquids (ILs) ([C 2 mim + ][X - ]) are investigated using molecular dynamics simulations. Four different ionenes poly(decylimidazolium) (PD 10 ), poly(tetraethyleneglycolimidazolium) (PE 10 ), alternating copolymer (P(ED) 5 ), and a block copolymer PE 5 D 5 are immersed in [C 2 mim + ][X - ], where [X - ] = thiocyanate [SCN - ], tetrafluoroborate [BF 4 - ], and trifluoromethanesulfonate [TfO - ]. The radius of gyration indicates that the ionene chains are more extended when immersed in [TfO - ] compared to [BF 4 - ] and [SCN - ], while the solvent accessible surface area shows that PE 10 is the most contracted ionene among all systems. The electrostatic interactions between the ionenes and the ILs are very consistent with the inherent electrostatic characteristics of the different anions, which can be quantified using the Ionic Polarity Index (IPI). The ionene configurations and dynamics strongly depend on the backbone functionality and architecture of the chain, due to the balance between the inter- and intra-molecular interactions in these systems.

Effect of silver($\mathrm{I}$) ion reduction on the selectivity of olefins, paraffins, and aromatic compounds by gas chromatographic stationary phases consisting of silver($\mathrm{I}$) salts in ionic liquids

We report the olefin/paraffin selectivity offered by ionic liquid (IL) stationary phases can be enhanced through the addition of silver(I) ion, which is well-known to undergo selective complexation with unsaturated compounds. However, such stationary phases often suffer from the loss of chromatographic selectivity as silver(I) ion can be reduced to elemental silver. To maintain the separation performance of silver(I) ion/IL stationary phases, an understanding of factors and conditions that promote the reduction of silver(I) ion is needed. In this study, capillary gas chromatography columns featuring a stationary phase consisting of the 1-decyl-3-methylimidazolium bis[(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl]imide ([C 10 MIM + ][NTf 2 - ]) IL impregnated with [Ag + ][NTf 2 - ] were examined to investigate the effects of temperature, hydrogen content in exposure gas stream, and time of heating/exposure events on olefin selectivity. Retention factors of representative analytes, such as C 6 olefins and paraffins as well as aromatic compounds, were measured after subjecting the columns to the aforementioned conditions, followed by an evaluation of selectivity factors over time. Selectivity factors of olefins and aromatic compounds were observed to decrease significantly when the stationary phases were heated to temperatures higher than 110°C as well as being subjected to mixed gas streams containing greater than 50 mol% of hydrogen. As constant column heating temperatures were applied under exposure gas mixtures containing hydrogen and nitrogen, a gradual decrease in analyte selectivity factors was observed under prolonged periods of time. However, application of a ternary gas mixture comprised of 25/50/25 mol% hydrogen/nitrogen/methane resulted in an increase in the 3-hexyne/cis-2-hexene selectivity when measured at 120°C for 60 h, due to a smaller decrease in the retention factor of 3-hexyne compared to cis-2-hexene.

Internally cooled membrane-based absorber for dehumidification and water heating: Validated model and simulation study

This report presents a comprehensive model for advanced membrane-based absorber components accounting for three separate fluid streams, one of them providing internal cooling, with complex flow patterns. The model was implemented with various liquid desiccants and their properties (including LiCl, CaCl 2 , and [emim][OMS] ionic liquid [IL]). The model has been validated using data from two laboratory prototype absorbers, one with CaCl 2 as the working fluid and one with an IL as the working fluid. Entropy analysis was further carried out to verify the model and understand effect of internal cooling on the entropy variation of three fluid streams. The developed model and codes are expected to enable detailed configuration optimization and provide in-depth understanding of three-fluid heat and mass exchanger (HMX) performance. The paper also describes parametric studies of the HMX components in utilizing the latent heat removed in space cooling to heat water and numerically explores the unique benefit of its application in a semi-open absorption heat pump water heater. The results show that a single three-fluid HMX has the potential to achieve simultaneous dehumidification and water heating efficiently at cost effectiveness, particularly in hot and humid climates.

Chitin extracted from various biomass sources: It's not the same

Here this study demonstrates the use of ionic liquids to successfully extract chitin from different biomass sources and the utilization of the resulting chitins to prepare monofilament fibers. Chitin was extracted from five different biomass sources (processed and raw shrimp shell, crab and lobster shell, and fly larvae) using the ionic liquid (IL) 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate ([C 2 mim][OAc]). While processed and raw shrimp shell yielded chitin of high purity in quantitative yield, crab and lobster shell resulted in lower yields of chitin. Fly larva provided chitin severely contaminated with proteins. Each extracted chitin was re-dissolved in the same IL and dry wet jet spun into monofilament fibers to determine any trends in mechanical properties vs. biomass source. The concentration needed to spin fibers was not consistent and had to be adjusted individually for each type of chitin obtained. Chitin from raw shrimp shell produced the strongest fibers, while the chitin from the crab and lobster produced weaker fibers, although, the latter were twice as elastic. The use of fly larvae led to the weakest and least elastic fibers.

Physics-informed machine learning to predict solvatochromic parameters of designer solvents with case studies in CO 2 and lignin dissolution

The polarity of solvents plays a critical role in various research applications, particularly in their solubilities. Polarity is conveniently characterized by the Kamlet-Taft parameters that is, the hydrogen bonding acidity (α), the basicity (β), and the polarizability (π*). Obtaining Kamlet-Taft parameters is very important for designer solvents, namely ionic liquids (ILs) and deep eutectic solvents (DESs). However, given the unlimited theoretical number of combinations of ionic pairs in ILs and hydrogen-bond donor/acceptor pairs in DESs, experimental determination of their Kamlet-Taft parameters is impractical. To address this, the present study developed two different machine learning (ML) algorithms to predict Kamlet-Taft parameters for designer solvents using quantum chemically derived input features. The ML models developed in the present study showed accurate predictions with high R 2 and low RMSE values. Further, in the context of present interest in the circular bioeconomy, the relationship between the basicities and acidities of designer solvents and their ability to dissolve lignin and carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) is discussed. Our method thus guides the design of effective solvents with optimal Kamlet-Taft parameter values dissolving and converting biomass and CO 2 into valuable chemicals.

Effect of Interleukin-7 on Radiation-Induced Lymphopenia and Its Antitumor Effects in a Mouse Model

Local ionizing radiation (IR) can lead to systemic lymphocyte depletion, which is associated with poor survival outcomes in patients with cancer. Interleukin-7 (IL-7) plays an important role in lymphocyte homeostasis; however, its role in alleviating radiation-induced lymphopenia remains unclear. Hence, we established a radiation-induced lymphopenia animal model and evaluated the effect of exogenous IL-7 administration.

Caloric Restriction Impairs Regulatory T cells Within the Tumor Microenvironment After Radiation and Primes Effector T cells

Outcomes for triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) are poor and may be improved by increasing CD8{sup +} tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) to augment antitumor immunity. Radiation (RT) can promote immunogenic cell death with increased antitumor T cell activity but also stimulates suppressive regulatory T cells (Tregs). Because metabolic alterations affect immune homeostasis and prior studies show caloric restriction (CR) combined with RT improves preclinical TNBC outcomes, we hypothesized that CR augments RT, in part, by altering intratumoral immunity. Using an in vivo model of TNBC, we treated mice with ad libitum (AL) diet, radiation, a CR diet, or CR + RT, and demonstrated an immune suppressive environment with a significant increase in CD4{sup +} CD25{sup +}Foxp3{sup +} Tregs after RT but not in CR-fed mice. CD8:Treg ratio in CR + RT TIL increased 4-fold compared with AL + RT mice. In vivo CD8 depletion was performed to assess the role of effector T cells in mitigating the effects of CR, and it was found that in mice undergoing CR, depletion of CD8 T cells resulted in increased tumor progression and decreased median survival compared with isotype control–treated mice. In addition, PD-1 expression on CD3{sup +}CD8{sup +} T cells within the tumor microenvironment was significantly increased in CR + RT versus AL + RT treated mice as per immunofluorescence. Serum from breast cancer patients undergoing RT alone or CR and RT was collected pre- and postintervention, and a cytokine array demonstrated that patients treated with CR + RT had notable decreases in immunosuppressive cytokines such as IL-2Rγ, IL-10Rβ, and TGF-β2 and 3 compared with patients receiving RT alone. In conclusion, combining CR with RT decreases intratumoral Tregs, increases CD8:Treg, and increases PD-1 expression via a process dependent on CD8 T cells in a TNBC model. Breast cancer patients undergoing CR concurrently with RT also had significant reduction in immunosuppressive cytokine levels compared with those receiving RT alone.

Encapsulation of hygroscopic liquids via polymer precipitation in non-aqueous emulsions

Here, encapsulation of ionic liquids (ILs) and phase change materials (PCMs) can overcome limitations associated with bulk materials, e.g., slow mass transfer rates, high viscosities, or susceptibility to external environment. Single step soft-templated encapsulation methods commonly use interfacial polymerization for shell formation, with a multifunctional monomer in the continuous phase and another in the discontinuous phase, and thus do not give pristine core material. We posit that polymer precipitation onto emulsion droplets in non-aqueous emulsions could produce a robust shell without contamination of the core, ideal for the encapsulation of water-sensitive or water-miscible materials. Solutions of commodity polymers were added to the continuous phase of non-aqueous Pickering emulsions stabilized by alkylated graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets such that the change in solubility of the polymer led to formation of robust shells and the production of capsules that could be isolated. We demonstrate that a polymer precipitation approach can produce capsules with pristine core of the IL 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate [Emim][PF 6 ] or the salt hydrate PCM magnesium nitrate hexahydrate (MNH) and shell of nanosheets and polystyrene, poly(methyl methacrylate), or polyethylene. The capsules are approximately 80 wt% [Emim][PF 6 ] or >90 wt% MNH, and the core can undergo multiple cycles of solidification and melting without leakage or destruction. This novel, single-step methodology provides a distinct advantage to access capsules with pristine core composition and is amenable to different core and shell, paving the way for tailoring capsule composition for desired applications.

Supported ionic liquid membranes (SILMs) with exceptional selectivity and permeability for dilute CO 2 separations

Supported ionic liquid membranes (SILMs), containing phosphonium ionic liquids with aprotic N-heterocyclic anions (AHA ILs) in an inert inorganic support, were tested under both dry and humidified (40 % RH) mixed-gas conditions down to 420 ppm CO 2 in N 2 at 35 °C. In the dry case, the best performing IL, triethyl(octyl)phosphonium 4-bromopyrazolide ([P 2228 ][4-BrPyra]) exhibited mixed-gas CO 2 permeabilities and CO 2 /N 2 permeability selectivities as high as 26,800 barrer and 7,000, respectively. In the presence of humidity, the CO 2 permeability and CO 2 /N 2 selectivity increased to 49,100 barrer and 13,200, respectively, and these are the highest reported combination in the literature. Humidity amplifies CO 2 permeabilities and CO 2 /N 2 permeability selectivities through increases in CO 2 capacity due to bicarbonate formation and through faster mobility of the mobile carrier from decreased viscosity. Furthermore, N 2 permeability stayed roughly invariant in the presence of humidity, likely from competing effects of viscosity reduction and lower N 2 solubility.

Pressure-stable supported ionic liquid membranes using isoporous supports for evaluating pure- and mixed-gas light paraffin fractionation

Advances in horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing have spurred the growth of domestic U.S. energy production. Membranes, typically silicone rubbers, have found utility in shale gas treatment as fuel gas conditioning units to selectively remove C 2 + hydrocarbons at pressures up to 30 bar, producing clean CH 4 for gas engines. However, more selective materials could be beneficial for broader shale gas treatment applications, such as dew point control units. Supported ionic liquid membranes (SILMs) offer a potential opportunity for improving C 3 H 8 /CH 4 selectivity, but they lack pressure-stability. Here, we report C 3 H 8 /CH 4 selective and pressure-stable SILMs using isoporous supports. SILMs with supports that had minimal defects remained stable up to 15 bar of transmembrane pressure. This stability allowed for pure- and mixed-gas testing of the resulting membranes at elevated pressures. Furthermore, these tests revealed that low viscosity ILs (<100 cp) may display mixed-gas permeances and permselectivity nearly identical to pure-gas results. On the other hand, higher viscosity ILs may display increasing permeances and permselectivity with increasing C 3 H 8 fugacity, similar to rubbery polymers. Ultimately, the SILMs demonstrated relatively high pressure-stability due to the isoporous supports and competitive mixed-gas C 3 H 8 /CH 4 permselectivity compared to silicone rubber.

Molecular dynamics simulations of a dicationic ionic liquid for CO 2 capture

A dicationic ionic liquid ([DBU-PEG][Tf 2 N] 2 ) was studied using classical molecular dynamics simulations to examine its structural and gas separation properties. The dication was designed in an attempt to improve CO 2 solubility by means of tuning the cation-anion interactions of the ionic liquid (IL). The computational model was compared to experimentally obtained density, viscosity, and powder X-ray diffraction spectra. The structure of the IL was further investigated with radial distribution functions and free volume analysis through cavity distributions. It was found that the shape and charge distribution of the dication enhances CO 2 interaction: the CO 2 molecule is hugged by the dication along the PEG linker and close to one of the cationic ends. Here, the geminal design of the dication allows for strong interaction with CO 2 , showing promise as a means of carbon capture.

Why does a phosphonium-phosphinate ionic liquid protect the contact surfaces from wear and micropitting but increase vibration when used as an additive in rolling-sliding lubrication?

A phosphonium-phosphinate ionic liquid (IL) was studied as a lubricant additive for rolling-sliding contacts. The bench-scale test was designed to simulate automotive rear axle operation during cold start, highway towing, and overload conditions. Adding such an IL (2%) into a base oil significantly reduced wear loss and rolling contact fatigue, e.g., microcracking and micropitting, but made the vibrational noise notably higher under a low (-1.5%) sliding roll ratio (SRR). Additionally, worn surface characterization revealed an interesting texture pattern with alternating smoother plateaus and rougher valleys, which is believed to cause the high vibration. No increased vibration was observed at a high (-30%) SRR, possibly because the more aggressive sliding abrasion prevented such a surface texture from forming.

Exosomes derived from thymic stromal lymphopoietin-treated dendritic cells regulate T helper 17/regulatory T cell differentiation via miR-21/Smad7 axis

Highlights: • Exosomes from TSLP-treated DCs promote Th17 differentiation. • Exosomes from TSLP-treated DCs inhibit Tregs differentiation. • MiR-21 is highly expressed in exosomes from TSLP-treated DCs. • Exosomal miR-21 regulates Th17/Treg differentiation by targeting Smad7. Thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) is associated with fungal keratitis. This work aims to investigate whether TSLP can regulate T helper (Th) 17 and regulatory T cell (Treg) differentiation. We separated dendritic cells (DCs) from peripheral blood of healthy volunteers. DCs were treated with TSLP to activate DCs, and exosomes were obtained. CD{sup +} T cells were incubated with exosomes from TSLP-treated DCs. We found that exosomes from TSLP-treated DCs notably promoted the proportions of Th17 cells and inhibited the proportions of Tregs in the CD4{sup +} T cells. Moreover, exosomes from TSLP-treated DCs enhanced the expression of retinoid-related orphan receptor γt (RORγt) and interleukin 17 (IL-17), and repressed the expression of forkhead box protein P3 (Foxp3) and interleukin 10 (IL-10) in the CD4{sup +} T cells. Furthermore, miR-21 was highly expressed in exosomes from TSLP-treated DCs. Exosomes from TSLP-treated miR-21-silenced DCs promoted Treg differentiation and suppressed Th17 differentiation. Smad7 up-regulation repressed Th17 differentiation and enhanced Treg differentiation, which was abolished by miR-21 overexpression. Smad7 overexpression rescued the effect of exosomes from TSLP-treated DCs on Th17/Treg differentiation. In conclusion, our article confirms that TSLP induces DCs to deliver miR-21 by secreting exosomes, and thus miR-21 regulates Th17/Treg differentiation by inhibiting Smad7. Thus, this work further reveals the biological role of miR-21 in fungal keratitis.

Long noncoding RNA MEG3 expressed in human dental pulp regulates LPS-Induced inflammation and odontogenic differentiation in pulpitis

Highlights: • LncRNA MEG3, upregulated in inflamed dental pulp, is involved in the inflammation and regeneration in pulpitis. • The expression of lncRNA MEG3 was semiquantitatively detected in the pulp tissue by the innovative RNAscope® technique. • MEG3 downregulation can inhibit inflammatory cytokines secretion and also promote the odontogenic differentiation of hDPCs. • LncRNA MEG3 can be a potential therapeutic target in the inflammation and regeneration of dentin-pulp complex in pulpitis. Pulpitis refers to inflammation of the inner pulp by invading microbes, and tissue repair occurs due to odontogenic differentiation of human dental pulp cells (hDPCs) with multidifferentiation potential. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) can modulate numerous pathological and biological processes; however, the role of lncRNAs in the inflammation and regeneration of the dentin-pulp complex in pulpitis is unclear. Here, we performed high-throughput sequencing to identify differentially expressed lncRNAs between human normal and inflamed pulp and concluded that lncMEG3 (lncRNA maternally expressed gene 3, MEG3) was signicantly upregulated in both inflamed pulp and LPS-treated hDPCs. MEG3 expression in the pulp tissue was detected using the RNAscope® technique. RNA pulldown assays identified the MEG3-interacting proteins and the potential mechanisms. With MEG3 knockdown, we investigated the role of MEG3 in the secretion of inflammatory cytokines in LPS-treated hDPCs and odontogenic differentiation of hDPCs. MEG3 downregulation inhibited the secretion of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 in LPS-treated hDPCs, and the p38/MAPK signaling pathway may be related to this effect. MEG3 knockdown promoted odontogenic differentiation of hDPCs by regulating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. Our study suggested that MEG3 has a negative effect on inflammation and regeneration of the dentin-pulp complex in pulpitis.

Crosstalk between cyclophilins and T lymphocytes in coronary artery disease

Highlights: • CD147 receptor expression is elevated in T lymphocytes from CAD patients. • Intracellular CypA and B expression are augmented in T lymphocytes from CAD patients. • CypA, B and C, and IL-1β and IL-6 serum levels are increased in patients with CAD. • CypA and B levels in T lymphocytes are correlated with CypA and B serum levels, respectively. Cardiovascular diseases and atherosclerosis are currently some of the most widespread diseases of our time. Within cardiovascular disease, coronary artery disease and underlying atherosclerosis were recently linked with systemic and local inflammation. Cyclophilins participate in the initiation and progression of these inflammatory-related diseases. Cyclophilins are released into the extracellular space upon inflammatory stimuli and participate in the pathology of cardiovascular diseases. The cell surface receptor for extracellular cyclophilins, the CD147 receptor, also contributes to coronary artery disease pathogenesis. Nevertheless, the physiological relevance of cyclophilin's family and their receptor in cardiovascular diseases remains unclear. The present study aimed to better understand the role of cyclophilins in cardiovascular artery disease and their relationship with inflammation. Hence, cyclophilins and pro-inflammatory interleukins were measured in the serum of 30 subjects (divided into three groups according to coronary artery disease status: 10 patients with acute coronary syndrome, 10 patients with chronic coronary artery disease, and 10 control volunteers). In addition, cyclophilin levels and CD147 receptor expression were measured in T lymphocytes purified from these subjects. Cyclophilin A, B, and C, pro-inflammatory interleukins, and CD147 membrane expression were significantly elevated in patients with coronary artery disease.

Ergothioneine alleviates senescence of fibroblasts induced by UVB damage of keratinocytes via activation of the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway and HSP70 in keratinocytes

Highlights: • EGT activated Nrf2/HO-1 pathway and HSP70 in UVB-irradiated keratinocytes. • EGT alleviated ROS production, apoptosis, and inflammation in UVB-irradiated keratinocytes. • EGT suppressed senescence and collagen imbalance in fibroblasts by inhibiting the keratinocyte-secreted factors. • EGT suppresses photoaging by UVB irradiation in a keratinocyte/fibroblast co-culture system. Ultraviolet B (UVB) irradiation induces skin damage and photoaging through several deleterious effects, including generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), apoptosis of epidermal cells, inflammation, and collagen degradation in fibroblasts. Ergothioneine (EGT) is a naturally occurring amino acid with potential biological properties. We evaluated whether EGT protects against UVB-induced photoaging using a keratinocyte/fibroblast co-culture system. Keratinocytes were pretreated with EGT, irradiated with UVB, and co-cultured with fibroblasts. In keratinocytes, ROS production and apoptosis were assessed. We also analyzed the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway, HSP70, proapoptotic proteins, and paracrine cytokines by Western blotting and real-time PCR. Collagen degradation-related genes and senescence were also assessed in fibroblasts. EGT pretreatment of keratinocytes significantly inhibited downregulation of the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway and HSP70, and protected keratinocytes by suppressing production of ROS and cleavage of proapoptotic proteins, including caspase-8 and PARP. Furthermore, EGT significantly reduced the paracrine cytokines, including IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α. In co-cultures of fibroblasts with EGT-treated keratinocytes, the expression levels of collagen degradation-related genes and fibroblast senescence were significantly decreased; however, synthesis of procollagen type I was significantly increased. Our results confirm that EGT suppresses the modification of collagen homeostasis in fibroblasts by preventing downregulation of the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway and HSP70 in keratinocytes following UVB irradiation.

Up-regulating TIPE2 alleviates inflammatory pain by suppressing microglial activation-mediated inflammatory response via inhibiting Rac1/NF-κB pathway

TNF-α-inducible protein 8-like 2 (TIPE2) is a recently discovered regulator of inflammation that can maintain immune homeostasis, exerting a significant role in the development of inflammation-related diseases. Here, we aimed to explore the role and potential regulatory mechanism of TIPE2 in the progression of inflammatory pain. In the present study, a mouse BV2 microglia cell activation-mediated inflammatory model was developed with LPS induction, and a mouse inflammatory pain model was established with complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA) injection. In vitro, the TIPE2 expression was decreased in LPS-induced BV2 cells. Overexpression of TIPE2 mitigated LPS-medicated microglial activation via decreasing nitric oxide (NO) generation and the expression of microglia marker IBA-1. Notably, increasing TIPE2 expression alleviated microglial activation-triggered expression levels and releases of proinflammatory factors such as TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6. Mechanism analysis verified that overexpression of TIPE2 blunted Rac1-mediated activation of NF-κB pathway following LPS stimulation. More importantly, CFA injection reduced the expression of TIPE2 in a mouse inflammatory pain model and overexpression of TIPE2 alleviated CFA-mediated pain hypersensitivity and inflammatory response, and inactivated microglia cell in vivo. Furthermore, overexpression of TIPE2 decreased Rac1 expression and suppressed the activation of NF-κB pathway in spinal cord after CFA injection. In summary, the present study revealed that overexpression of TIPE2 mitigated inflammatory pain through suppressing microglial activation-induced inflammation by inactivating Rac1/NF-κB pathway. The study provides a novel theoretical foundation for the therapy of inflammatory pain.
