Data from: "Towards CONUS-Wide ML-Augmented Conceptually-Interpretable Modeling of Catchment-Scale Precipitation-Storage-Runoff Dynamics"

This data package was generated to support the manuscript “Towards CONUS-Wide Machine Learning-Augmented Conceptually Interpretable Modeling of Catchment-Scale Precipitation-Storage-Runoff Dynamics.” It provides input files, model outputs, plotting data, scripts, notebooks, and documentation used to develop, evaluate, and reproduce Mass-Conserving Perceptron (MCP)-based hydrologic modeling experiments across 513 selected Catchment Attributes and Meteorology for Large-sample Studies in the United States (CAMELS-US) basins. The files are organized by modeling component and analysis purpose, including rainfall–runoff experiments, snow module experiments, coupled hydrologic-snow experiments, Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) benchmark results, model skill metrics, initialization and epoch records, cell-state normalization files, Akaike Information Criterion (AIC)-based model comparison files, and data used to generate manuscript figures. Tabular files can be opened using standard spreadsheet software or Python/R data-analysis tools. Python scripts, Jupyter notebooks, and selected MATLAB scripts are included for model execution, postprocessing, plotting, and statistical analysis. Quality assurance and quality control were conducted through the source-data selection and modeling workflow. Meteorological forcing, streamflow, and static catchment attributes were derived from the CAMELS-US dataset, and snow water equivalent data were derived from the University of Arizona (UA) Snow Water Equivalent dataset. Selected basins and time periods were screened during the associated research workflow to avoid missing observations or poor-quality cases. Static geospatial features were processed primarily using Quantum Geographic Information System (QGIS) and Geospatial Data Abstraction Library (GDAL) workflows. Additional details are provided in the associated manuscript and documentation.

Basic suppression techniques are evaluated

Investigation of standard suppression methods facilitates switching of inductively loaded circuits which causes interference in adjacent electronic equipment. The data are reduced to tabular form and rapid selection of components by the designer can be made without lengthy calculations or trial and error manipulations.

Survey of techniques used to preserve biological materials

The techniques used to preserve biological materials are documented and summarized. The report is presented in a handbook format that categorizes the most important preservation techniques available, and includes a representative sampling of the thousands of applications of these techniques to biological materials and organisms. Details of the information coverage and method of approach are outlined. Data are given in tabular form, and an index and extensive bibliography are included.

An experimental investigation of a cold jet emitting from a body of revolution into a subsonic free stream

An experimental program was undertaken to determine the pressure distribution induced on aerodynamic bodies by a subsonic cold jet exhausting normal to the body surface and into a subsonic free stream. The investigation was limited to two bodies with single exhaust jets a flat plate at zero angle of attack with respect to the free-stream flow and a cylinder, fitted with a conical nose, with the longitudinal axis alined with the free-stream flow. Experimental data were obtained for free-stream velocity to jet velocity ratios between 0.3 and 0.5. The experimental data are presented in tabular form with appropriate graphs to indicate pressure coefficient contours, pressure coefficient decay, pitching-moment characteristics, and lift characteristics.

Experimental Hingeless Rotor Characteristics at Full Scale First Flap Mode Frequencies (including Rotor Frequency Response to Shaft Oscillations), Phase 3

The completion of the High Advance Ratio Research Program is reported. The primary objectives of the program were to experimentally determine the rotor frequency response to shaft pitching and rolling oscillations and to acquire steady response and frequency response data at high advance ratios for hingeless rotors with typical, full-scale, first flap mode natural frequencies. Secondary objectives of the program included the further evaluation of both the hub moment feedback control system and the simplified rigid blade flapping theory with respect to shaft oscillations. The bulk of the text is devoted to the presentation and examination of representative experimental results. All the analyzed test data are documented in tabular and/or graphical formats.

The Nimbus 4 data catalog. Volume 8: Data orbits 5206-10,120, 1 May 1971 - 30 April 1972

Data from various instruments onboard the Nimbus 4 are presented, including the image dissector camera system, the temperature-humidity infrared radiometer, infrared interferometer spectrometer, and monitor of ultraviolet solar energy experiments. This data was collected from 1 May 1971 to 30 Apr. 1972. Orbital elements and daily sensor data are presented in tabular form.

Data report of six free-drifting buoys tracked by the Eole satellite in the western North Atlantic Ocean in the autumn of 1972

The buoys were deployed on the Continental Shelf east of the Chesapeake Light and were tracked by the French EOLE satellite. Two buoys drifted for 11 days during the first mission and four buoys drifted for 14 days during the second mission. Trajectory and water temperature data are presented in tabular and graphical from with a discussion of the accuracy.

Pressure Distribution at Subsonic Speeds over the Forepart of Two Blunt Circular Cylinders

A wind tunnel investigation was made at subsonic speeds to determine the pressure distribution over the forward part of a circular cylinder. The cylinder was equipped with interchangeable faces, one having a flat face and one having a dome shaped face. The investigation was made over angle of attack range from -1 deg to 26 deg and a Mach number range from 0.30 to 0.89. Pressure coefficients are presented in tabular form and plotted data are presented for some selected angles of attack about the surface of the cylinder.

Performance tests on the Kohmyr ECC ozone sonde

The reliability and accuracy of the Kohmyr ECC ozone sonde are determined. Emphasis is placed on establishing and testing for leak-free connections and stable pump flow rates as well as properly adjusting the pumping pressure. Calibration of the Kohmyr ECC ozone sondes and Dasibi monitors is described. Raw ordinate data and ozone connection data are presented in tabular form. The results of a linear regression treatment of the sonde-indicated ozone concentration vs. Dasibi readings for each switch position are included along with averages of the regression parameters over the six sequencing switch positions. It is suggested that sondes and Dasibi monitors be individually calibrated before flight.
